In this guide, we’ll explain how you can romance Sciel in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Find out how to develop a closer bond with her.
By the end of Act 1, you get to meet Verso (the real protagonist of the game). As Verso, you’ll be able to establish deeper bonds with all your traveling companions. Some of these can even blossom into a romance. For instance, Verso can engage in a romantic fling with Sciel by upgrading their relationship level far enough.
In this guide, we’ll explain how you can romance Sciel in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. We’ll also take a look at whether can pursue other romantic relationships simultaneously.
How To Romance Sciel in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
To even get the option to romance Sciel, you’ll first need to get your Relationship Level with her to level 3. To do this, simply spend time with her when you’re at camp. The option to pursue a romantic relationship first appears when going from Relationship Level 3 to Relationship Level 4. At this point, Sciel will ask you whether you are interested in an ‘adventure.’ You’ll get the option to accept her proposal or turn her down through the following dialogue choices.
- Do you even need to ask? (Accept proposal)
- Um, actually I’m a bit sleepy. (Reject proposal)
If you accept, you’ll spend the night with her, and your relationship with her will start. If you turn her down, you won’t be able to pursue a romantic angle with Sciel any longer. Either way, your Relationship Level with her will proceed to level 4.
If you accepted her proposal in the first instance, you’ll get another proposition to spend the night with her later on. While progressing the Relationship Level from Level 5 to 6, you’ll encounter a swimming lesson with Sciel. There, she’ll ask you to spend one last passionate night together before ending the fling. Once again, you can say either of the following things.
- Let’s celebrate. (Accept proposal)
- I don’t think that’s a good idea. For me. (Reject proposal)
Regardless of the option you choose, your relationship with her will progress to level 6. Also, both options mark the end of the relationship.

Can You Romance Multiple People in the Game?
Besides the option to romance Sciel in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, you also have the option to romance Lune. However, if you decide to accept Sciel’s proposition first, you will get locked out from starting a Lune romance.
You can only pursue one of these romance options in one playthrough. Also, keep in mind that your choice of romantic partner or lack thereof doesn’t play any role in the overarching story. The game doesn’t penalize or reward you for picking Lune, Sciel or neither of them.
