A new title update for Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is now live on all platforms, bringing more than the usual suit of bug fixes and balance changes. The 1.3.0 update comes with some highly requested features that fans have been asking for since the game’s release. Chief among the new additions is the ability to replay the boss encounter against Simon.

Found within Renoir’s Drafts, Simon is one of the toughest challenges in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. The boss is a true test of reflexes above all else, requiring players to master perfect parries and dodges. And if you’ve beaten Simon, you can replay the encounter as many times as you want with different characters and build combinations.

Additionally, the update also comes with some buffs for the Story Mode difficulty preset. After this update, players going through the game on Story Mode will find it much easier in terms of the combat and boss encounters. Here’s a look at Clair Obscur Expedition update 1.3.0 patch notes.

Apart from the ability to replay the encounter against Simon, the update has also added new Challenge Modifiers. This is one of the most highly requested features by the community. Essentially, once you reach Act 3, you get to unlock the damage threshold past 9,999. This essentially allows you to “one-shot” some of the bosses if you build correctly.

However, fans requested a way to cap the damage value to a limit such that it’s impossible to one-shot bosses, even with the Painted Power Pictos equipped. This allows players to see the entire moveset of a boss without having to nerf their builds. With Challenge Modifiers, you can limit max damage to 99,999 or 999,999.

In addition, the update also squashed quite a lot of bugs in the game’s code and even improved the localization. Here are the official patch notes for Clair Obscur Expedition 33 (1.3.0):
