Crimson Desert, the intriguing new open-world RPG from Korean developer Pearl Abyss, finally has a confirmed release date. First announced in 2023, Crimson Desert has mostly been an enigma for open-world fans, appearing occasionally during events but without revealing too much. However, following the most recent PlayStation State of Play, Pearl Abyss has finally revealed the game’s release date.
Surprisingly, the game is coming out much sooner than most fans might have anticipated. Furthermore, following Crimson Desert’s release date announcement, pre-orders for the game went live on all platforms.

Crimson Desert Release Date and Platforms
Crimson Desert is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2026. The game is coming to all current-gen platforms, i.e., PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Furthermore, the game is also coming to Mac, albeit with some limitations. You will need a system with Apple M1 or better to play Crimson Desert. Interestingly, Crimson Desert initially started as an expansion for Black Desert Online.
However, as the game’s scope grew with each update, Pearl Abyss eventually decided to make Crimson Desert a standalone game with a single-player narrative. Although the game shares the same universe as Black Desert Online, it is a completely separate story, with new characters, world politics, and more.
