Cronos The New Dawn actively suffers from optimization issues. The game is plagued by excessive GPU demands that even bring the RTX 5090 down to its knees, struggling to maintain 60 FPS at 4K. The hardware implementation of the lumen in this game is likely the issue with this game. Turning off Ray Tracing increases performance by 70% as per our observations. Use the following performance-oriented settings to achieve a seamless 4K gaming experience, provided your GPU has sufficient power.

Note: The GPU power we are considering here is RTX 4080 and beyond. Based on the current state of optimization, GPUs such as the RTX 4060 Ti, RX 6800 XT, or RTX 3090 cannot provide a sustainable frame rate. In the future, this may change when the devs fully polish the game.

The settings below serve as a starting point, which can then be adjusted according to your tonal preference and frame rate requirements. Upscaling is extremely important, given the state of the game’s optimization. With the RTX 4090 and 5090, and with these settings, playing at Native AA or DLAA is possible.

Frame generation on GPUs such as the RTX 4090 and 5090 can be enabled due to ample VRAM. Coupling in our optimized settings and Frame Generation, provided you have sufficient headroom, the overall gameplay compared to stock settings will be monumentally better.
