Following the phenomenal Silent Hill 2 Remake, developer Bloober Team has become one of the biggest names when it comes to modern survival horror. And with their latest game, Cronos The New Dawn, the team now aims to deliver another stellar horror experience. Developed alongside Silent Hill 2, Cronos is a completely different breed of survival horror. While it does bear an uncanny resemblance to Dead Space, Bloober Team has confirmed that Cronos isn’t an action-horror game. Instead, it’s a more psychological experience, with a heavy emphasis on the “survival” element of survival-horror. And much like the studio’s previous project, Cronos is built using Unreal Engine 5.

However, this time around, Bloober Team is using a more advanced version of UE5. As a result, Cronos looks significantly more stunning compared to any other horror game on the market. However, the impressive visuals do come at the cost of higher system specifications. Here’s a look at Cronos The New Dawn’s official PC system requirements.

Cronos The New Dawn, much like Silent Hill 2 Remake, makes use of most UE5.1 tools, including Lumen GI, Nanite, etc. Based on the game’s promotional material and trailers, Cronos seems to make use of hardware RT as well, as opposed to SH2’s software RT solution. Although Silent Hill 2 Remake did feature a hardware RT option, it was limited to the PC version for obvious reasons. Hardware RT looks significantly sharper and accurate compared to software RT. However, it does come at the cost of higher VRAM usage. Cronos might also feature a software RT option, given it’s playable on non-RT GPUs (like GTX 1080 and RX 5700XT).

However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Bloober Team itself regarding that. As a result of its RT-powered visuals, Cronos boasts significantly beefier system specifications compared to SH2 Remake. Here are the minimum and recommended specifications for Cronos The New Dawn:
