Here are our top picks for the easter eggs you definitely should not miss out on while playing Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is packed with Easter eggs waiting for you to discover during one of your playthroughs. Some can be quite obvious, while others require you to seek them out. These secrets can be nods to pop culture, past games, iconic personalities, and even memes. It’s a nice little reward for curious players who take the time to explore Night City. Whether you are a returning player or new to the game, there is always something to find.
With that said, here are our top picks for 10 Easter eggs you should not miss out on.
Cyberpunk 2077 Easter Eggs You’ll Want to Check Out
1. Hideo Kojima Cameo

Kojima is one of the most iconic personalities in the video game industry. He is known for his works such as Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding. Apparently, he also appears in Cyberpunk 2077. However, you might miss him if you are too focused on completing the mission.
In the “The Heist” mission, players can spot Hideo Kojima as a guest at the Konpeki Plaza bar. He is just there, sitting on a couch, talking about storytelling in entertainment.
2. Ciri on Magazine Cover

If you don’t check out every nook and cranny of the game, you’ll likely miss this one. Apparently, in the Cyberpunk 2077 world, The Witcher 3 has reached retro gaming status. If you started with a corpo life path, you can head to your desk and check the nearby cabinets. In one of them, you’ll find a magazine with Ciri on the front cover.
3. Pose References

In photo mode, you can choose which pose your character does. If you’ve noticed, some poses and their names are actually references to other media. These include Sailor Moon, Keanu Reeves, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, the Hotline Bling Drake meme, and many more. If you haven’t yet, check out photo mode and see how many references you can name.
4. Half Life 3 Reference

One of the longest-running jokes is how Steam’s co-founder, Gabe Newell, can’t count past three, which explains why there is still no Half-Life 3. Cyberpunk 2077 took that joke and made the game canon in the world as No Life 3. You can find a review for the game in the Aldecaldo Camp, which also references the main protagonist of that series, Morgan Freeman, as Baron Freimensch.
5. Glados From Portal

One of the side quests in Cyberpunk 2077 requires you to chase down Delamain taxis that have gone rogue. If you’ve played any of the Portal series, you might hear a familiar voice in one of the rogue AIs. It’s a reference to GLaDOS, the antagonist of the Portal franchise. You’ll know it’s a reference because of how the AI talks and its obsession with test results and cake.
6. Witcher 3 Main Theme on a Payphone

The next Easter egg is very easy to miss. This one also requires the Phantom Liberty DLC. In the Dogtown area, head to a payphone in Capitan Caliente. Once there, dial the number “574-555-2377.” This will play the Witcher 3 main theme. Additionally, you can observe Johnny Silverhand as he reacts to the music.
7. Bridge Baby (BB) From Death Stranding

Another Kojima reference appears in the form of the Bridge Baby from Death Stranding, one of his award-winning games. During the quest for the serial killer known as Peter Pan, you’ll eventually stumble upon this relic in one of the buildings you investigate.
However, it’s not called BB in the Cyberpunk universe; it’s just called a container made of plastic material. Its function is to simulate conditions in the uterus.
8. Overwatch Weapons

During Cyberpunk 2077’s development, Overwatch was one of the biggest games on the market. So it’s no surprise that CD Projekt Red included a subtle nod to it. During the Ghost Town mission, you’ll stumble upon a rifle known as the Widow Maker. This is a reference to one of the characters in the Overwatch series. Another reference is a weapon literally named the Overwatch, which you can get after completing Riders of the Storm.
9. Vault 101 From Fallout

If you’re going to create a game about mankind’s bleak future, there’s no way you’ll miss the chance to make a Fallout reference. It looks like Cyberpunk 2077 does exactly that. Somewhere in the Badlands, you’ll stumble upon a small circular fence with a huge metal plate in front of it. If you look closely, the metal plate has the number “101,” which is a reference to a vault with a similar number in the Fallout series. The dead bodies you find there also reference the main questline in Fallout 1.
10. GTA San Andreas References

You read the title and probably thought, “ahhh, here we go again.” It looks like CD Projekt Red is also a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series, as you can see a few references to the game within Cyberpunk 2077. The most notable one is the recreation of Grove Street from GTA San Andreas on 6th Street, which is occupied by gangs.
Another is what happens if CJ from GTA San Andreas can’t follow the train as instructed by Big Smoke. By following a train track in the Badlands and finding a tunnel, you’ll come across two dead bodies and a motorcycle. If you check on the bodies, you’ll find some info about what happened and their names.
The two bodies are from JC and Little Smoke; you already know who they are. The archived conversation states that all they had to do was follow the train. But alas, JC failed to do it, and now they are dead.
