Dead Rails is one of the most popular zombie games on Roblox. The game is set in Mexico, where players are tasked with containing the Zombie Plague. Dead Rails Beginner’s Guide: How To Survive
When you first load into the game, you have limited resources. This is how you should prepare for your expeditions in-game:
- Head to the trading post and sell your starting gold bar for $50
- Use the money to buy fuel for $20 and a revolver for $20
- You can also purchase bandages for $10 per pack
- Head to the train to start your journey
- You have to load coal to fuel the furnace
- Stop at buildings to restock on fuel and other supplies
Every 10 kilometers that you travel in-game, the game saves your progress at checkpoints. You can sell resources that you collect for cash to buy other items. You will run into zombies and have to fight your way through in the survival horror experience.
The game has special mechanics known as Blood Moon and Full Moon. During a Blood Moon event, vampires spawn and try to hunt you down. During Full Moon events, werewolves spawn and may attack you. When events are not active, only normal zombies spawn at all stops.

The game is available on PlayStation, but the in-game user interface shows the control layout for Xbox controllers. You can customize the keybinds on keyboards and controllers on all platforms. On mobile, you can use touch controls to play the game.
Dead Rails: How To Unlock Classes
Currently, there are four classes in the game. You can play as a Doctor, a Cowboy, or an Arsonist when you first load in. The beginner classes don’t have any special powers, but they have different starting items. You can play any class you want, as the starting items are cheap and do not make much of a difference.
Completing a run in Dead Rails unlocks the Ironclad class. It comes with heavy armor and defensive items, which makes it ideal for solo players. More classes may be added to the game in future updates.
