Turning the undead into your personal army might sound like overkill, but in Dead Rails, it’s just smart survival. The Strange Mask is one of the most useful items in the game because it gives you a big tactical advantage, not just because it looks cool.
Found deep inside the Sterling Mines, this mask lets you reanimate dead enemies and use them to fight by your side. It’s not a simple grab-and-go item either; getting it means navigating traps, undead threats, and a baited setup that can wipe you out if you’re not careful.
Get Strange Mask in Dead Rails Roblox
The Strange Mask is located inside the Sterling Mines, a random in-game city that can spawn between 10,000 to 30,000 meters, or later between 60,000 to 70,000 meters during your Dead Rails run. To spot it, look for the large banner labeled “Sterling.” Once you reach the area, head to the back of the town, where you’ll find a mineshaft blocked by wooden planks.
Grab a dynamite from the minecart nearby, then head to the Sheriff’s office to pick up a torch. Place the dynamite in front of the wooden barricade and light it using the torch. After the explosion, enter the mineshaft. Be prepared for a fight, as zombies are waiting inside. Eliminate them using your strongest gear.
Continue forward and take the first left. From there, walk straight without taking any additional turns. Eventually, you’ll come across another wooden barrier blocking the room where the Strange Mask is kept. Use another dynamite and torch combination to break through this second barricade.
Inside, you’ll find the Strange Mask on a tabletop along with a few gold and silver bars. However, picking it up immediately triggers a trap that spawns werewolves. To avoid this, pick up one of the gold bars and place it on top of the mask. Once the gold is placed, you can safely collect the Strange Mask without setting off the ambush.
This entire process, from spotting a Sterling to navigating the mines, requires precise movement and careful timing. If done correctly, you’ll walk away with one of the most powerful items in Dead Rails.
