Do you enjoy playing solo in Dead Rails? Imagine having an ally that protects you from threats like zombies and vampires. It can save you from many risky situations, especially during the nights.

Guess what? Dead Rails recently introduced this feature in the most recent update, where you can now tame wolves and make them your companions. These wild animals can assist you during combat if you can tame them. This guide will show you how to find and tame the wolves in Deal Rails.

Where To Find Wolves

You can easily spot wolves in wild areas between the forts. They travel in a pack and move very quickly. Be careful, though—sometimes a werewolf will spawn with them. Werewolves are strong, so it’s wise to deal with them first before trying to tame the regular wolves.

Taming wolves is pretty easy once you know how it works. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Find a dead body (called a corpse). It can be from a zombie, a horse, a werewolf, or even another wolf.
  2. Go near the wolf. It might try to attack you at first.
  3. Drop the corpse near the wolf. If it eats it, it will become friendly and start helping you in fights.

Note: You can only tame normal wolves, not werewolves.

What Tamed Wolves Do

Once a wolf is tamed, it will stay on your side and attack any enemies, like zombies or other players. They’re fast and aggressive, so they’ll jump into action quickly.

You can also pick them up and carry them in your bag. When you need them, you can drop them out again. You can even stick them (or “weld” them) to your train or horse cart and let them loose during battles.

Tips for Taming and Using Wolves

  • Always carry a few corpses with you, so you’re ready to tame wolves when you find them.
  • You can even use a wolf or werewolf corpse to tame others—it works, even if it’s kind of dark.
  • Try taming a few wolves to build your own little pack. They can gang up on enemies and give you an advantage.
  • Don’t expect them to win every fight. They’re better for smaller enemies, not big ones like werewolves or vampires.

Why Tame Wolves?

Wolves are excellent in battles. They strike first, so you take less damage. They’re also helpful for surprising enemies and guarding the train. Plus, having your own wolf pack running around with you is just fun.

Taming wolves adds a fun new layer to Dead Rails. It mixes combat, survival, and strategy in a simple but clever way. You can turn dangerous wolves into loyal teammates with just a little preparation. Just remember to stay alert—and always bring a corpse or two.
