Death Stranding 2 PC port: Has a Release Date Been Confirmed?

While Death Stranding 2 release date trailer finally revealed when fans can dive into the sequel, there has been no news regarding when the game will arrive on PC. DS2 is coming to PS5 on June 26, 2025, with pre-orders beginning on March 17. Currently, availability has been confirmed for the blue console team, with the greens and the PC players having to hang back and wait for an update from Kojima Productions.

Death Stranding 2 PC Port Will Likely Follow DS1 Suit

Death Stranding 1 released in November 2019 on the PS4 and a Director’s Cut arrived in September 2021 for PS5. It took a little less than a year from the initial launch for DS1 to arrive on PC in July 2020. The Director’s Cut arrived on PC in March 2022 and on Xbox Series X|S finally in November 2024. A DS2 PC port will likely follow a similar suit as its predecessor and end up coming around late 2025/early 2026. While the matter gets more complicated when talking about an Xbox port, it may not take as many years this time around.

Kojima Productions announced that they have the DS IP’s full ownership in November 2024. Following on the heels of this announcement, the game arrived on Xbox Series X|S. A focus on more platforms and a bigger set of audience may see the port arriving earlier this time around. Optimistically, a PS exclusivity for a year or so followed by a mid to late 2026 release can be in the cards for Xbox with Death Stranding 2. But it is much more likely that there will be a gap of two to three years.

There’s no official info to back this information so take it with a grain of salt if you want to play the game on either PC or Xbox. While Death Stranding 2 PC and Xbox ports will surely be in the pipeline for some time in the future, we currently only know about the arrival on PS5. If you are already on the blue team or want to purchase one before the game arrives, you can pre-order either the Collector’s Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition to get your hands on 48 hours of early access, effectively starting the game on June 24 instead.
