Death Stranding 2 The Motherhood Password Explained

Upon reaching the Motherhood in Death Stranding 2, you may find yourself stuck. Instead of a delivery terminal for you to complete your order, you are first faced with a lockpad beside a door asking for a password. The strange obstacle might leave you confused, and our guide has the answer that you are looking for.

Death Stranding 2: What Is The Motherhood Password?

The Motherhood Password in Death Stranding 2 is the date of birth that you input at the very beginning of the game. 

Death Stranding Mission 26: Recover Old BB Pod From The Armed Survivalists’ Base Explored 

You will be told of this mission by Charlie when you are in your Private Room aboard the DHV Magellan. Charlie will mention that you should carefully review the “details of this particular order”, which is available from the Data Scientist’s terminal. The mission blurb is: 

“Your next destination is the Motherhood. The Motherhood are highly suspicious of any outsiders and have made the delivery of an old BB pod a condition for their cooperation. Be sure to consult the corpus before visiting. Recover the old BB pod from the Armed Survivalists’ Base.” 

As you can see, you are being asked to open the corpus before visiting the Motherhood. You can hold the Options button to directly open the Corpus on this screen. Otherwise, you can access the corpus by following these steps:

• Hit Options button to bring up the Ring Terminal.
• Press left on D-pad to open the Ring Menu.
• Scroll down to Corpus.

In the Corpus, the mission’s entry will tell you to check out the Motherhood’s databank entry carefully before visiting. Press R1 in the Corpus to cycle to Databank and then scroll down to the Motherhood entry under the Facilities section. The description goes as follows:

“Humans are born from their mothers’ wombs. Every single birth is a cause for celebration. Expressions such as “mother earth” and “mother nature” are indicative of the productive abundance of the world around us. We are surrounded and shrouded by motherly bonds. But our world, once lush and overflowing with love, has been ravaged by the Death Stranding. Even this shelter is surrounded by Armed Survivalists, making the local area extremely dangerous. The people who live here are very wary of outsiders. The code required to open the door and overcome their suspicion is the date of your own birth.”

To get a quick reminder of the date you input at the beginning of the game, you can press square to reveal the Motherhood password in Death Stranding 2 for your playthrough.
