The Longest and the Shortest Story Demon Slayer Arcs
The Kidnapper’s Bog arc is the shortest section of the story. The manga only allotted 4 chapters for this story arc. Similarly, the anime adaptation also allotted two episodes for this section of the story. The Infinity Castle arc is the longest among all the Demon Slayer arcs. Not only is it the longest, but manga readers also consider it the most entertaining. This section of the story is yet to be animated. Ufotable will be releasing a trilogy of films that cover the entirety of the Infinity Castle arc.
Fans can expect some of the most entertaining fight sequences featuring the strongest Upper Moon 1 demons. We will also get to see Gyomei Himejima in action. He is the strongest Hashira, and fans can see him fight Kokushibo. These are the shortest and longest Demon Slayer arcs that new fans will encounter while watching the anime or reading the manga chapters.
How Many Arcs Are Left to be Animated?
This is an interesting question that anime-only fans have since they haven’t read the manga chapters. To answer the question, there are only two story arcs left to be adapted. The upcoming arc’s adaptation is already in progress. Ufotable, the animation studio responsible for the series, production announced that a trilogy of films will be released soon. These three films will cover all the events that are explored in the Infinity Castle arc. As mentioned earlier, this is the longest story arc, which is why Ufotable has allotted three movies for it.
The Infinity Castle arc also marks the final section of the story. The reason for that is the all-out war that will be waged in the coming arc. Muzan and his army of Upper Moon demons will take on the entire Demon Slayer Corps in a fight to the death. Following this, the Sunrise Countdown arc will conclude the overarching story. To reiterate the points, the anime only has to adapt two story arcs – the Infinity Castle and the Sunrise Countdown arc. The final chapter of the series can be treated as an epilogue which focuses on a completely different generation of characters.
The Most and Least Loved Demon Slayer Arcs
It goes without saying that every viewer’s preferences dictate the arcs that they like and dislike. However, there are some story arcs that are quite popular with fans. On the other hand, there are a couple of story arcs that didn’t do particularly well with the crowd either. The Infinity Castle arc is the most-loved story arc in the series. This observation is based on the discussions that take place on forums like Reddit.
There are plenty of reasons why this story arc did well. Aside from the obvious factors like Gyomei and Kokushibo, there is one character in particular that fans love. Zenitsu Agatsuma takes on an Upper Moon demon while he is fully conscious. Not only does he display absolute bravery, but he also verbally humiliates his opponent.
On the other hand, the Kidnapper’s Bog arc seems to be the least favorite among fans. The arc is quite small, and there isn’t much to enjoy either way. The fight sequence featuring Tanjiro and Nezuko was entertaining. With that said, there isn’t much else to write home about.
Conclusion
The Demon Slayer series is one of the most enjoyable modern shonen titles. It packages its content in a very concise manner. The arcs are few in number and there are only 205 chapters in total. It is an exceptionally entertaining series despite its short length and we highly recommend this series to anyone who wishes to explore this wonderful medium.
