Destiny 2 has boatloads of quests that put different facets of your skills to the test. Some test your gunplay, some your movement, and others test your exploration instincts. The Alone in the Dark quest in Destiny 2 puts all three of these to the test, putting you into guarded locations where you have to navigate past enemies and other obstacles in search of lost Ghosts.
The Alone in the Dark quest sees you searching for lost Ghosts on behalf of Micah-1. While the quest may seem not too worthwhile at first glance, it holds several powerful weapons as rewards. How To Start Alone in the Dark
The Alone in the Dark quest takes place in the aftermath of the Final Shape campaign. You can only access this quest after completing the campaign. After you’re done with the campaign’s Iconoclasm mission, head over to the Lost City’s Tower and talk to Micah-10 to access the Alone in the Dark quest in the game. If you haven’t completed her Convalescence quests before, you have to clear those out before you can begin with Alone in the Dark.
How To Complete Alone in the Dark
Find the Lost Ghosts
As stated earlier, the Alone in the Dark quest in Destiny 2 sees you on the hunt for missing Ghosts. Your first main objective, therefore, is to find the missing Ghosts across various locations. The Alone in the Dark mission structure and level design are a rehash of Micah-10’s Convalescence missions and are fairly easy.
The general location of the lost Ghosts is marked on your map. Follow the map and reach the vicinity, after which the marker will disappear. Search along the area to find the lost Ghosts. These Ghosts are marked by an orange hue and are easy to spot.
Open the Overthrow Chests
Once you find the Ghost, your next step is to open the Overthrow chests in the area. These are events scattered across the levels that reward increasingly valuable chests. Complete the event to earn the Overthrow chests and open them. The enemies in this event pose a fair challenge, so be prepared before you participate.
Clear the Cyst
The final objective of the Alone in the Dark quest is to clear various Cysts across the map. Your objective marker will lead you to a white bird, which in turn will take you to the locations of the Cyst. You begin this objective by swapping the Cyst variant by interacting with the console with the white bird atop.
The white bird will then take flight and will lead you to the Cyst. Deal with the Cyst, and follow the white bird further till it leads you to a hidden entrance. Here, you have to shoot the Hive runes to open the entrance and find another lost Ghost.
Once all the objectives are complete, head over to Micah-10 back at the Lost City’s Tower. Talk to Micah-10 to complete the quest and earn your rewards.
