Appentence is a stasis adaptive frame trace rifle released during Season 23 Season of The Wish. It drops as the only legendary stasis trace rifle and the only trace rifle available for crafting. Also, trace rifles are potent special weapons operating like a primary weapon but hitting harder. With strong subclass synergy, Appentence provides a great utility weapon readily available to most players.

Appetence PvE God Roll
The best perks for the Appetence PVE God Roll are Fluted Barrel, Light Battery, Overflow, and Killing Tally. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Appetence PVE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Battery: Light Battery
- Column 3 Trait: Overflow
- Column 4 Trait: Killing Tally
- Masterwork: Reload
- Origin Trait: Dragon’s Vengeance
- Weapon Mod: Backup Mag
Fluted Barrel and Light Battery provide the Appentence with necessary stat boosts allowing the weapon to feel better to use overall. Also, Overflow can double the magazine size allowing for an absurd amount of available ammo. When paired with our damage perk, Killing Tally, this allows us to maintain its damage for longer without needing to reload.
Trace rifles are often used in PVE as a hard-hitting primary weapon. While using special ammo, they fill the space of a primary ammo weapon by allowing for continual damage and are very easy to use. They can even be used with other special weapons allowing for a no-primary ammo loadout for high damage at the cost of dealing with ammo.
Appetence PvP God Roll
The best perks for the Appetence PVP God Roll are Fluted Barrel, Projection Fuse, Hip-fire Grip, and Killing Tally. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Appetence PVP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Battery: Projection Fuse
- Column 3 Trait: Hip-fire Grip
- Column 4 Trait: Killing Tally
- Masterwork: Range
- Origin Trait: Dragon’s Vengeance
- Weapon Mod: Quick Access Sling
Buted Barrel, Projection Fusion, and Range masterwork provide us with massive boosts in our stability, handling, and range keeping our weapon lethal regardless of differing engagements. Hip-fire Grip may seem like an odd choice but the ability to be accurate when firing from the hip allows us to easily deal with other guardians rushing our location with close-range weapons. Lastly, Killing Tally is a nice damage perk giving us ramping damage to catch opposing guardians off guard with our damage output.
Trace Rifles are not currently meta within Destiny 2 PVP, however they are not bad weapons to use. They just require a specific playstyle and time invested into learning how to properly use the weapon. They don’t function like other weapons and can be daunting to gain the skill to perfect their use. Although, once you master them, they can be potent weapons in any guardians hands.
