In this article, we’ll explore the planned Ash and Iron Warlock ability buffs in Destiny 2 and how they’ll impact your game.

As per the latest news from Bungie, Warlocks are set to receive substantial buffs when the Destiny 2 Ash and Iron update releases on September 9, 2025. Many of the abilities for all subclasses will evolve with the update. The primary reason for that is to make players feel more powerful when heading into the endgame. For Warlocks, the majority of ability buffs will ensure that players can experience different builds, rather than sticking to a specific meta.
In this article, we’ll discuss the different Ash and Iron Warlock ability buffs in Destiny 2 that are slated to arrive with the update in September.

What Are the Planned Ash and Iron Warlock Ability Buffs in Destiny 2?

Bungie doesn’t want to nerf any of the abilities. Instead, the primary goal is to allow players with builds that can take down bosses and Champions to thrive in every scenario. Refer to the table below to understand how the buffs will impact the different Warlock abilities.
Ability | New Buff |
---|---|
Empowering Rift | You will now regenerate Class Ability, Melee, and Grenade energies while standing on an Empowering Rift. If you can make kills while standing on the Rift, it will generate Heavy and Special ammo progress. |
Weavewalk Strand Aspect | When exiting the Weavewalk state, the player and their nearby allies will receive the Woven Mail buff. How much time you spent in the Weavewalk state determines the duration of the Woven Mail buff. You also receive three Fragment slots from the Aspect instead of the original two. |
Weaver’s Call Aspect (Prismatic and Strand) | You will gain Class Ability energy whenever you deal Threadling damage. This includes the Strand weapons’ Hatchling perk as well. |
Frostpulse Stasis Aspect | You gain Class Ability energy with any type of enemy freezing, including through abilities, Rimestealer, or Chill Clip. |
Pocket Singularity Void | Base charges increase from one to two. Projectile uptime increases to two seconds. Players will experience 50% reduced detonation knockback. |
Prismatic Melee | Base charges increase from one to two. Projectile uptime increases to two seconds. Players will experience 50% reduced detonation knockback. |
