Bequest is an arc adaptive frame sword introduced in the Deep Stone Crypt raid in the Beyond Light Expansion. During Season of the Seraph, all the Deep Stone Crypt weapons had their perk pools updated and were made craftable. Swords are a powerful option in PvE for damage phases that require you to be near a boss. This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Bequest sword.

How to Get Bequest in Destiny 2

You obtain the Bequest from the Deep Stone Crypt raid on Europa. Specifically, the Bequest can drop from the last encounter of the raid, Atraks the Abomination. To access Deep Stone Crypt, you must own the Beyond Light Expansion. Furthermore, can get the weapon from the two hidden chest found throughout the dungeon once you have unlocked it in Collections. You can also use the chest after you complete the raid to purchase the weapon for Spoils of Conquest.

What Is the Bequest God Roll in Destiny 2?

A god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. The Bequest has a great PvE god roll that is one of the best sword options in the entire game. As with most swords, it has some decent rolls for PvP but is mostly a niche choice.

PvE Bequest God Roll

The best perks for the Bequest PvE God Roll are Jagged Edge, Swordmaster’s Guard, Relentless Strikes, and Surrounded. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Bequest PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Blade: Jagged Edge
  • Guard: Swordmaster’s Guard
  • Column 3 Trait: Relentless Strikes
  • Column 4 Trait: Surrounded
  • Masterwork: Impact
  • Origin Trait: Bray Inheritance
  • Weapon Mod: Back-Up Mag

PvE Breakdown

Bequest wouldn’t be anything special as a sword if it weren’t for its higher-than-normal Impact stat. A higher impact stat directly translates into more damage, meaning the Bequest can do more damage per swing than any other sword. This makes it the best sword in the game for damage phases against bosses where swords are the best tactic, such as Crota.

Jagged Edge adds even more impact damage to the sword, making it an obvious pick. Swordmaster’s Guard is the best guard to pick to help with the charge rate of the sword, which allows you to do more damage with heavy attacks. When it comes to the main traits on swords, Relentless Strikes is almost always the best choice since it basically gives you free ammo for hitting enemies with your sword. The Bequest only has a couple damage options that fit its use case as a boss damage weapon: Vorpal Weapon and Surrounded. Vorpal Weapon is a much smaller bonus but is always active. Surrounded is one of the best damage options for traits in the game, but can be difficult to activate. Luckily on most boss encounters that bequest is the best option, there are plenty of enemies you can use to get it active.

PvP Bequest God Roll

The best perks for the Bequest PvP God Roll are Honed Edge, Burst Guard, Tireless Blade, and Assassin’s Blade. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Bequest PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Blade: Enduring Blade
  • Guard: Burst Guard
  • Column 3 Trait: Tireless Blade
  • Column 4 Trait: Assassin’s Blade
  • Masterwork: Impact
  • Origin Trait: Bray Inheritance
  • Weapon Mod: Edge

PvP Breakdown

Swords are a very niche choice for PvP and the Bequest’s PvE advantage of having more impact, does virtually nothing in PvP. Swords can get a kill in a single hit, but require you to be right up on your opponent. This can be very dangerous in PvP, and there are typically better ways to use your heavy ammo.

Your blade and guard are not typically important choices on a sword in PvP. They simply don’t do enough to your stats to make a difference in any direction. Enduring Blade and Burst Guard increase your total ammo and your guard resistance respectively, which aren’t terrible things to have. Tireless Blade will get you more sword ammo if you get multiple kills with the sword, and Assassin’s Blade increases your movement speed for each kill. Overall, these perks can make the sword better, but like most swords, it simply isn’t the best option for PvP.
