In this guide, we’ll explore how you can get Tier 5 armor in Destiny 2 and why you need these armor pieces.

With The Edge of Fate update, Destiny 2 has shaken things up drastically. One of the biggest changes is how the power level system works and how you can now grind for better tier weapons and armor. Since the fifth tier is also the highest, it’s only natural that acquiring tier-up gear is the most challenging.
Tier 5 armor pieces are incredibly rare, but equipping them is well worth the effort that goes into finding them. In this guide, we’ll take a look at how you can get Tier 5 armor in Destiny 2 and why they are so valuable.
How To Get Tier 5 Armor in Destiny 2

The highest armor tier is only available to Destiny 2 players under specific circumstances. The first condition is that you need to grind to Power Level of 390 or more to even have a chance of finding Tier 5 armor pieces. The next condition you’ll need to meet is to access Portal activities at the Grandmaster difficulty setting. You will need to set up the modifiers to ensure an A-rank in these activities. For the uninitiated, Grandmaster difficulty scales past 400 Power Level, so you can expect quite a bit of challenge when taking on Portal activities.
Even so, when you meet all of the conditions mentioned above, there’s still no guarantee that a Tier 5 armor piece will drop during the activity. You might need to try out the activity a couple of times before you find such a piece. It will depend on your fortune. You can also try other high-tier activities in the game, but your chances are considerably better through the Portal activity grind.
