Scintillation is a strand adaptive burst frame linear fusion rifle introduced in the Final Shape Expansion. You get the Scintillation from playing Nightfalls with its Adept version dropping in the Grandmaster difficulty of the activity. Adaptive Burst frames are a new frame introduced in the Final Shape and Scintillation, which is the first of its kind. Linear Fusion RIfles shine in PvE as sustained total damage weapons where precision is necessary.

The best perks for the Scintillation PVE God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Ionized Battery, Rewind Rounds, and Bait and Switch. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Scintillation PVE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Battery: Ionized Battery
- Column 3 Trait: Rewind Rounds
- Column 4 Trait: Bait and Switch
- Masterwork: Charge Time
- Origin Trait: Veist Stinger
- Weapon Mod: Back-Up Mag
Firstly, Arrowhead Brake is always used to help any weapon get the perfect recoil direction. Ionized Battery is great for getting as many rounds in the magazine as possible. Rewind Rounds returns rounds to the magazine based on the number of hits, which means this could in theory indefinitely fire until the weapon is completely out of rounds in reserves. This paired with Bait and Switch, one of the better damage perks, could make this weapon overturn the reigning champion of Linear Fusion Rifles, Cataclysmic.
Linear Fusion Rifles are best used when precision shots combined with good damage on target are required. Scintillation has the potential to become the best-in-slot pick for Linear Fusion Rifles. This is one completely worth farming for that perfect roll.
Scintillation PvP God Roll
The best perks for the Scintillation PVP God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Accelerated Coils, Cornered, and Surrounded. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Scintillation PVP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Magazine: Accelerated Coils
- Column 3 Trait: Cornered
- Column 4 Trait: Surrounded
- Masterwork: Charge Time
- Origin Trait: Veist Stinger
- Weapon Mod: Quick-Access Sling (Adept Range)
As before, choose Arrowhead Brake, which is still the perfect choice to counter the recoil direction. Accelerated Coils shave off charge time which helps so much in PvP. In PvP, traits on heavy weapons aren’t as important so long as they don’t actively hurt the gun. The best choices for PvP on this weapon are Cornered and Surrounded, but those aren’t going to help this weapon too much in the use case this weapon would be used. They are mostly close-range traits on a long-range weapon, although they could help in a pinch if you are in a close-range situation with this weapon out.
As an Adaptive frame, we don’t yet know how well Scintillation will perform in PvP. Aggressive Frames tend to do well in PvP while Precision frames are less viable. However, Scintillation fires a three-round burst, making it a viable option.
How to Get the Scintillation in Destiny 2
You obtain the Scintillation in the Nightfall playlist. You can get it on certain weeks in a rotation, and higher-difficulty Nightfalls have a higher drop chance. Scintillation (Adept) can only be earned by completing Grandmaster Nightfalls when it is the weekly reward. Once the weapon has been earned, you can focus it on Commander Zavala for Vanguard Engrams and Glimmer. The Adept version can only be focused on the weeks it is the weekly Grandmaster reward and only with 10 Nightfall Ciphers.
