During Season of the Seraph, all the Deep Stone Crypt weapons had their perk pools updated and were made craftable. Sniper rifles are often used in both PvE and PvP for their higher damage capability at long ranges. Aggressive frame sniper rifles fire a bit slower but hit a bit harder than other sniper rifles This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Succession sniper rifle.

What Is the Succession God Roll in Destiny 2?
A god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. The Succession sniper rifle has a great PvE roll that allows it to have quite a bit of ammo and the ability to do a decent amount of damage. Its PvP roll leaves a bit to be desired but isn’t a terrible option if you enjoy its scope.
PvE Succession God Roll
The best perks for the Succession PvE God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Extended Mag, Reconstruction, and Firing Line. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Succession PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Magazine: Extended Mag
- Column 3 Trait: Reconstruction
- Column 4 Trait: Firing Line
- Masterwork: Handling
- Origin Trait: Bray Inheritance
- Weapon Mod: Backup Mag
PvE Breakdown
The Succession is one of the better kinetic aggressive frame sniper rifles in Destiny 2. Like most aggressive frame sniper rifles, its handling, magazine size and recoil direction stats are not great. The traits Arrowhead Brake and Extended Mag make up for the weapon’s shortcomings in those stats. A Handling masterwork and a Backup Mag mod will further improve those stats. The Succession has a very small magazine size without the Extended Mag and Backup Mag, so those options are vital to make the sniper rifle viable in most content.
What makes the Succession so powerful in PvE is the trait Reconstruction in Column 3. It not only reloads the magazine from reserves, it does so when the weapon is stowed or active. Reconstruction will also reload the rifle up to double capacity. Firing Line is the other trait worth grabbing in Column 4, as it increases your damage by a fixed 20 percent when at least 2 allies are nearby. Vorpal Weapon is also a great option if you need a sniper rifle for solo content since Firing Line is useless without allies. Both of these traits combined allow for a decent amount of damage on a single target for several shots without the need to reload.
PvP Succession God Roll
The best perks for the Succession PvP God Roll are Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, No Distractions, and Snapshot Sights. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Succession PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Column 3 Trait: No Distractions
- Column 4 Trait: Snapshot Sights
- Masterwork: Handling
- Origin Trait: Bray Inheritance
- Weapon Mod: Tactical
PvP Breakdown
Aggressive frame sniper rifles are less hindered by their small magazine size in the Crucible than they are in PvE, but they still need to mitigate their low handling. Fluted Barrel is the best barrel trait for increasing handling, and you should get a Handling masterwork with a Tactical mod to further increase it. Overall, the magazine traits are less important, but Accurized Rounds or Tactical Mag will at least improve your stats a little bit.
The Succession has some decent PvP traits in Column 3 and Column 4. Aggressive frame sniper rifles aren’t the best at quick scoping because of their low handling, so a trait like No Distractions can come in handy. You will need to aim down sites ahead of time more often with the Succession, giving the trait the ability to activate. Snapshot Sights will help mitigate the handling issues of the sniper rifle by increasing the speed at which you can aim down sites, but won’t do anything for drawing your weapon. The Succession isn’t the best sniper rifle for PvP content in general, but you can make use of it if you enjoy it.
