Developers of Grounded 2 have teased what the final map size is going to look like. Here’s what to expect from future updates.

Grounded 2 is currently in early access, which means most of the content will be slowly added to the game through multiple updates. This also means the current map size is going to expand significantly. As of now, there are a total of ten zones, which comprise one-third of what the entire map size is going to be.
Additionally, the developers have teased the final design of the map in the current version of the game. You can find the future map design on top of the podium in the Ceremony zone. To reach the top, you can simply build up using any type of stairs and use Photo Mode to get a better view of the entire map.
Here’s what to expect from future Grounded 2 updates and how they might affect the current map.

New Locations in Grounded 2

The Grounded 2 roadmap reveals that two new locations are going to be added in the Winter and Summer updates. While the Winter update location is a bit unclear, the Summer update expands upon the Pond area due to the addition of water creatures and buggies.
In addition to these two areas, some other prominent locations on the map are the following:
- Playground: It is located to the right of the giant oak tree at the bottom of the map, which seems to be full of sand and playground structures.
- Ominent Community Garden: There are two large vegetable patches behind the Statue zone on the teased map, which does not seem to show many structures on top yet. However, that may change once developers implement the area in the future.
- Newly Renovated Restrooms: This location seems to be at the top left corner of the map, right beside the Pond area. There is currently no information about this location except that it marks one of the corners of the complete map.
The roadmap currently lists four locations planned for future updates, and this number can increase over time.

Final Map Size in Grounded 2
As you can see in the Reddit post by user Emikzen, the entire final map of Grounded 2 might shape up to be three times larger than the backyard of Grounded 1. That is excluding any underground locations, which might make the final full map even larger. In other words, the exploration in Grounded 2 is going to be much more exciting than it is in the prequel.
