In this guide, we’ll dive into how you can get your hands on Betrayer’s Husks in Diablo 4 and why the item is important.

Farming for uniques from the bosses in Diablo 4 is perhaps the best way to get the most powerful items and gear in the game. However, grinding for the uniques in this manner can still be quite complicated since you need specific materials to open Hoard chests that drop after every boss fight. If you run out of the required resources, you simply won’t be able to open these chests and obtain the unique rewards.
A similar situation arises when you defeat Belial and try to access his Hoard chest. To open it, you’ll need a material called Betrayer’s Husks. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can get Betrayer’s Husks in Diablo 4 and how you can use them.
How To Get Betrayer’s Husks in Diablo 4

The best way to acquire this material is by fighting Belial, but not in his Lair Boss Dungeon, which is the Palace of the Deceiver in Kehjistan. Instead, you’ll need to fight and slay Belial when he spawns after you open the Hoards from any of the other bosses in the game. So, if you need Betrayer’s Husks, try grinding through any of the other boss fights. We’d suggest picking the boss based on how many of their summoning materials you possess.
To summon each boss, you have to spend some summoning materials. You should go with the boss whose summoning material you have in the greatest quantity. This will make it easier to summon the enemy repeatedly, defeat them, and then create a large stockpile of Betrayer’s Husks.
After defeating the boss and opening their Hoard, you’ll face off against the base form of Belial. He is quite easy to defeat in this state, and he’ll vanish as his health deteriorates, leaving behind a second Hoard chest. The contents inside will depend on the Lair Boss you defeated before taking on Belial.
Apart from the above-mentioned method, you can also get Betrayer’s Husks in the following ways:
- Opening Whisper Caches
- Opening the Kurast Undercity rewards chest
- Purchase from Fayira in the Den

How To Use Betrayer’s Husks in Diablo 4
You will need this particular material when opening Belial’s Hoard. However, you won’t get the boss’s Hoard from defeating his base form that appears after you’ve defeated a separate Lair Boss. Instead, you’ll need to face off and take down Belial at the Palace of the Deceiver in Kehjistan for the Hoard to drop.
In this location, you’ll fight Belial’s true giant form, which is much tougher to beat compared to the Belial you fight elsewhere. After defeating him, you can use 2x Betrayer’s Husks to open his Hoard. He doesn’t have a loot table. Instead, you’ll get to select one of the other Lair Boss loots when you open Belial’s Hoard.
So, with this system, you can farm the loot from a specific boss without ever needing to face them. You can simply farm Betrayer’s Husks from another boss, defeat Belial, and then get the loot from a tougher Lair Boss through Belial’s Hoard.
