Diablo 4 has always given you plenty of options to deal with enemies, seemingly doubly so with its mage builds. Now, with Diablo 4 Season 9, this list of options has been expanded further with a new set of spells. While all of the spells are extremely powerful, Disintegrate is the undisputed star of the show.

Disintegrate is a new Catalyst-type Horadric spell in the game. This spell shoots out a powerful red beam at enemies that deals a steady blitz of 220,463 damage over 8 seconds. This is an absurd amount of damage for an absurdly long duration. The powerful spell is made even better through various Infusions and Arcanas.

Infusions and Arcanas allow you to customize the spell and modify its effects as needed for your build. With the right Infusions and Arcanas, you can use Disintegrate to deal 100% increased damage, freeze enemies for a few seconds, stagger bosses, and so much more. This is one of the best and most versatile spells in the game, and if you don’t know how to get it, our guide is here to help.

The Disintegrate spell is pretty powerful, and Diablo 4 makes you work for the spell by completing a quest. In order to acquire the Disintegrate spell in the game, you need to finish the Keepers of the Glen quest in Season 9. This quest is part of the new storyline for Season 9.

The Keepers of the Glen quest follows the events of the Bearing the Weight of Ghosts quest. You begin the quest by talking to Byrona in Cerrigar. Bryona will direct you towards a Nightmare Dungeon, and you have to make your way through it till you find a Horadric Strongroom.

In the strongroom, your objective is to simply eliminate all enemies till a boss spawns and then beat the boss. Once you do so, retrieve the Blood Relic and return to Bryona to complete the quest. You will then unlock the Disintegrate spell and can use Horadric Phials to upgrade it.
