Diablo 4 has always had an impressive selection of spells on offer, and the list is now even bigger with Season 9. Season 9 adds in a ton more spells to the list, and with the countless modifications available, the possibilities are endless.

The Arcanas are one of your main means of modifying a spell in Diablo 4, and if Monster Resistance is a headache for you to deal with, then the Fractured Core is for you. The Fractured Core is an Arcana that modifies your Catalyst to deactivate monster Damage Resistance Aura effects for a short duration, but you take 15% more stacking damage for that time.

The Fractured Core is a high-risk, high-reward Arcana. If glass cannon builds are your thing, then you can’t go wrong with the Fractured Core. If you don’t know where to find it, our guide is here to help.

You get the Fractured Core Arcana in Diablo 4 by completing the game’s Horadric Strongrooms. At the end of each of these strongrooms, you get a loot cache as a reward. The Fractured Core is a drop in this cache. Now, the cache drops are determined by RNG, so you’ll have to run the Horadric Strongrooms dozens of times before you actually get the item as a drop.

If you haven’t heard of the Horadric Strongrooms, they’re new minidungeons added to Diablo 4 as part of Season 9. You find the Horadric Strongrooms inside the Nightmare Dungeons. The process of reaching them is fairly simple:

  • Use a Nightmare Sigil to access a Nightmare Dungeon.
  • Proceed through the dungeon and keep an eye on your Horadric Wayfinder. The Horadric Wayfinder will lead you to the Horadric Gateway.
  • Interact with the gateway to enter the Horadric Strongroom.

Once you’re inside the Horadric Strongroom, you’ll see an Attunement meter on the right side of your screen. Collect Attunement, and the meter will fill. The more you fill it up, the better the rewards you’ll get at the end. We recommend filling it up all the way to V or VI. Once the timer runs out, you’ll have to face a boss, beating which drops the Horadric cache. Loot this cache for a chance of getting the Fractured Core.
