The Sharpening Gizmo in Diablo 4 is a spellcraft Arcana that increases your chance of Catalyst crits by 50 percent.
Spell users have been eating well over the last few seasons of Diablo 4, and this momentum continues with Season 9. The new season brings in plenty of new spells to tweak your builds, but more so, plenty more Infusions and Arcanas to modify them. The Arcanas, especially, are some of the best we’ve gotten in recent times, and the Sharpening Gizmo is a standout.
The Sharpening Gizmo is a spellcraft Arcana that increases your chance of Catalyst crits by 50 percent. Essentially, with this Arcana equipped, your Catalyst has a 50% chance to deal 200-340% Physical damage, and your Catalyst’s Lucky Hit Chance is doubled.

The Sharpening Gizmo is a Magic rarity Arcana, and you can only get it as a drop inside the Horadric Strongrooms in the game. The Horadric Strongroom drops are determined by RNG in this game, which means you’ll have to run through these strongrooms multiple times before you get the item.
To get to a Horadric Strongroom, you first need to head to the Nightmare Dungeons in Diablo 4. You can access the Nightmare Dungeons by using the Nightmare Sigils. Once you’re inside one of these dungeons, proceed through the linear path and clear out all enemies. Use your Horadric Wayfinder and let it guide you to the Horadric Gateway.
Interacting with the gateway will throw you right into the Horadric Strongroom. Once you’re inside, proceed through the minidungeon and defeat enemies to earn Attunement. The more Attunement you earn, the better your rewards, and the higher your chance of getting the Sharpening Gizmo. Defeat the boss at the end of the dungeon to earn the Horadric Cache, which holds a chance to drop the Sharpening Gizmo.
