Silksong lets you play as Hornet, a side character who appears within the original game. Although you never play as her in the first part and only fight her twice, she has left a lasting impression on the community.
Her story now continues in this sequel game, where you will be taken to the world beyond Hallownest and challenge various foes, and meet new friends. However, it is NOT necessary to have played the prequel before diving into this highly anticipated sequel.

You can play the original game before Hollow Knight Silksong. Although, as mentioned above, it won’t be necessary. However, you will still get a better sense of Hornet and her character by playing through the first game.
