Abyssus is a roguelite co-op shooter where you and your friends clear massive waves of enemies. On top of that, it has a unique combination of Doom and Bioshock aesthetics. As a co-op game, you might think it makes sense that you should be able to play with other players on multiple platforms. With that said, you might be curious if there is crossplay in this game. Unfortunately, Abyssus does not support crossplay. In fact, it’s only playable on one platform, for now. This means we will not be seeing a crossplay feature anytime soon.
Will Abyssus Have Crossplay Support in the Future?
Before Abyssus can have crossplay support, it needs to be released on consoles first. With that said, there are currently no announcements for a console release. This means the game is only PC-exclusive, for now. As to why it has no crossplay, the developers are focusing on delivering the best gameplay experience for players. This means polishing the game and adding more engaging content.
Without a console release announcement, there would be no point in adding crossplay in the game. For now, the game remains exclusive to PC players. The closest you’ll get to playing this game on a console is the handheld Steam Deck.
Is Abyssus Available on Xbox Game Pass?
At the time of writing, Abyssus is not available on the Xbox Game Pass. The game is only accessible on PC via Steam and not on Microsoft’s subscription service. This means the only way to play the co-op shooter is by purchasing the full game. But it doesn’t have to be that way forever. Some games eventually make their way to gaming subscription services like Xbox Game Pass.
These titles often get added a few months after their release. There are multiple possible reasons as to why they make it to this platform. One good reason is to attract new players who are curious about the game. This way, they can play it without having to pay full price while also getting access to more games. If Abyssus does get enough attention, we might be seeing this title arriving in the Xbox Game Pass soon enough.
