In this article, we’ll explore whether you get to meet Lucy in Cyberpunk 2077 and what her status is in the game’s timeline.

As someone who’s seen Cyberpunk: Edgerunners before playing the game, you might be naturally waiting to see Lucy in Cyberpunk 2077. Lucy, also known as Lucyna Kushinada, unfortunately does not make an appearance in the game. If you’ve watched the show, the reason for her not appearing in Night City during V’s rampage might already make sense to you.
However, if you need a refresher on Edgerunners’ conclusion, we’ll revisit what happened to Lucy at the end of the show and why she isn’t in the game.
Is Lucy from Edgerunners Still Alive in Cyberpunk 2077?

Let’s get this out of the way first. Yes, Lucy is very much alive the last time we see her in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. During the closing episodes of the series, Faraday betrays the Edgerunners group by kidnapping Lucy. He intends to sell her off to Arasaka. However, David Martinez decides to foil this plan by merging into an experimental cyberskeleton, against Lucy’s warnings. He then rushes into Arasaka Tower to rescue Lucy, and together they jump off from the top of the tower while David is inside the cyberskeleton.
When the couple land safely down on the ground, they eventually run into Adam Smasher. David Martinez engages with him, trying to give Lucy enough time to escape. Adam Smasher overwhelms the protagonist and beats him to death, but Lucy and a couple of the other Edgerunners manage to escape. After escaping Night City, Lucy goes on to finally fulfill her dream of reaching the moon. Earlier in the show, David promises Lucy to take her there one day. Now, Lucy is all alone, but she imagines David having a great time with her. And that’s where the show ends.

Lucy in Cyberpunk 2077: Why Is She Missing?
After Cyberpunk: Edgerunners aired, many fans hoped that a future update of Cyberpunk 2077 would add Lucy to the game. However, that didn’t happen. Instead, you can get small signs of her being alive. After the 2.0 update for the game, you can head to the Columbarium in Night City to see several of the Edgerunners’ team epitaphs. All of these messages seem to have been written by Lucy, although the game never expressly confirms this. Since so few members of the squad got out alive, it’s reasonable to assume that she’s the one who wrote those messages.
Even though she doesn’t appear in Night City, she is most likely alive and well somewhere else. Who knows, we might even get to meet her in the future when the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 releases. Or, she might make a brief appearance in Edgerunners Season 2.
