The temporary suspension of MLBB does not delete the in-game account; find out more about the recent ban on the game.
As of January 19, 2025, the government of the United States has banned apps developed by ByteDance Ltd., which includes CapCut, TikTok, and others. One of the banned apps is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, a MOBA developed by a Chinese developer, Moonton, which is a subsidiary of ByteDance itself.
As per the developer:
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, access to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in the US will unfortunately be temporarily suspended starting January 19, 2025…We deeply value our vibrant player community and are actively exploring possibilities to bring the game back in the future. Services in other regions will remain available as usual.”
At this moment, many players are wondering if this ban will remove their in-game account forever. We answer that question below.
Does the Ban Delete In-Game Account?
For players, their in-game account is everything to them. Some have bought skins, some have precious in-game friends, and some have other valuable things stored in their account. The thought of losing the account can make anyone scared.
Due to some national-level security reasons, the government of the United States has banned MLBB, but fear not because the developer Moonton has assured that players’ accounts will not be suspended or deleted via a Reddit thread for the North American player base. The developer has said,
“Although we are unable to provide service in the US, your account will not be suspended or deleted.”
How To Apply for Account Deletion
If there are some players who want to delete their existing MLBB account, these are the steps to follow:
- Players need to go to Account Setting by tapping their Avatar.
- Find Account Center and choose Cancel Account, and they will be directed to the webpage that will help in the process of account deletion.
- Follow the instructions given on the webpage carefully and submit the account deletion application.
- It will take around two months before the account gets permanently deleted. Players can cancel the deletion request anytime during these two months.
