Here is what you need to know about whether the construction simulation game, Roadcraft, has crossplay support.
Roaadcraft is a construction simulation game where you rebuild areas ruined by natural disasters. The game offers a wide selection of heavy equipment vehicles to choose from. It’s up to you on how you use these construction vehicles to finish objectives.
While you can play the game alone, it also has a co-op multiplayer feature. This allows you to play with your friends and share the workload. With that said, what if your friends bought the game on a different platform? Fortunately, Roadcraft does support crossplay. This means, regardless of your friends’ preferred platform, they can still join you in a multiplayer session.

Where Can You Play Roadcraft?
As a game that features crossplay, Roadcraft is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series X/S. However, keep in mind that you might need an Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus subscription in order to play the game on console online. Otherwise, you can only play it offline unless you are playing on PC.
Is There Cross-Platform Progression in Roadcraft?
Unfortunately, Roadcraft does not support cross-platform progression. As explained by the developers in their FAQ, the save files are too large to transfer between platforms. This means your saved data is locked to the system you originally played on.
However, Roadcraft does include shared progression. This feature ensures that both hosts and guests in co-op multiplayer share the same progress. So, any progress made while playing together carries over to single-player mode, allowing you to continue where you left off, even if you’re not playing with the original host.
To avoid starting from scratch, it’s best to purchase Roadcraft on the platform you plan to stick with.

Is Roadcraft Playable on the Steam Deck?
Yes, Roadcraft is playable on Steam Deck. However, it is not fully optimized to run on the handheld console. This means you might have some problems while playing the game. Performance issues are one of the most common problems that players might encounter while playing games that are not optimized for the Steam Deck.
With that said, you are free to try the game on the handheld console. Just keep in mind that you might not have the best gameplay experience. If you want to play the game using a controller, Roadcraft does support Xbox and PlayStation controllers. However, you might need to disable Steam Input to avoid issues.
