Voided Terrain in Donkey Kong Bananza is a metal surface with a purple hue that covers the ground and platforms. Voided Terrain creates an obstacle to progress wherever it appears, as it cannot be destroyed or manipulated with DK’s punches and attacks. It first appears in the Hilltop Layer and must be cleared before heading to the planet’s core. How To Remove Voided Terrain in Donkey Kong Bananza
To clear Voided Terrain, play music near the VoidCo device and destroy it. The VoidCo device is a purple generator for the Voided Terrain covered in several seals with “VoidCo” written on them. It also has Void Kong’s symbol on it. Whenever you encounter Voided Terrain in the game, look for the VoidCo device nearby.
The device often has a path of Voided Terrain leading up to it. Once you find the device, hold the “L” button to play music until the VoidCo seals shatter. Then, punch and destroy the VoidCo device to clear the Voided Terrain.
Removing Voided Terrain in the Hilltop Layer
Voided Terrain blocks your entry to the planet’s core in the Hilltop Layer. It covers a giant banana monolith and must be cleared before proceeding onward. From the giant banana, travel north along the Voided Terrain path.
Begin climbing up the mountain, and throw chunks of dirt at the mud walls to climb them. You can pay gold to the Architectone at the base of the mountain to recover health at a Getaway. After climbing the first mud wall, spiky polyhedrons will roll down the mountain and block the path ahead. Time your movement to dash through the gap between them. After climbing the next ledge, grab a chunk out of the crystal arrow and throw it at the mud wall to climb it.
Once at the top, Turf Surf across the field of spike polyhedra to the VoidCo device. Play music near the device to remove its protective seals and then attack it to destroy the VoidCo device. This will cause all the Voided Terrain to disappear, and you can continue onwards to the planet’s core.
