Learn how to reset skill points in Donkey Kong Bananza by visiting specific characters and optimizing skills without any penalties.
Skills in Donkey Kong Bananza are unlocked by spending skill points. They allow for easier navigation of the open world, quicker collection of resources, and provide extra damage in fights. Skill points themselves are acquired by collecting bananas.
After completing the early-game sections of Donkey Kong Bananza, players will find themselves quickly collecting shiny new skills to learn. However, skill points are limited, and knowing how to respec them is necessary to try out new skills while discarding unused abilities.
How To Reassign Skill Points in Donkey Kong Bananza
You can reset all your skill points by speaking to any of the giant Elders found throughout the Layers. The first one you encounter is the Kong Elder in Lagoon Layer’s 101 sub-layer. After the tutorial is complete, speak with the Kong Elder or any other Elder and select the “Reset Skills” option.
Choosing to reset skills will refund all your skill points, allowing you to invest in unlocked skills with a clean slate. Resetting skills incurs no cost, which encourages experimentation with new skill loadouts.
Some skills allow you to carry extra consumable items, such as a second Apple Juice. When you reset skills through an Elder, these extra items turn into gold. The game issues a warning about the same before resetting skill points.
Since there are no downsides to resetting skills, feel free to do so every time you come across an Elder to optimize your skill arsenal. Not every Layer has an Elder, so you may have to progress through the story considerably before you get another chance to reset skills.
After finding an Elder, you can use the Mother Eel and Warp Gong to fast-travel to their court whenever you need to reset skills.

Not all Layers feature an Elder, but fast-travel allows you to revisit one from most locations to respec skill points whenever you need to. All Elders provide the same skill resetting service, and choosing one over the other will make no difference in the outcome.
