In the Depths of Winter is one of those story moments in Duet Night Abyss that hits a little harder than you expect. You can only access this quest after finishing Prey VS Hunter and On the Eve of Bloom. Once you’ve cleared the two required quests, head to Hypnos’ House. You will find Snow waiting outside. Talking to him starts everything off.
From there, the story takes you through stealth, conversations, and a few key fights.
How To Complete In the Depths of Winter Story in Duet Night Abyss
You will start by meeting Snow outside Hypnos’ House, where a short cutscene sets your next steps in motion. Once that’s done, follow Henrik through town without being seen. Keep a safe distance, stay behind walls or crates, and move only when he isn’t looking. If he spots you, the sequence restarts, so patience is key here.
After Henrik disappears, make your way back to the Outsider’s house. Talking to him reveals more about Psyche’s situation, and together you agree to lend a hand.
The next step takes you back to Hypnos’ House again, where you should head upstairs to check on Psyche. The conversation that follows builds the emotional core of this quest and gives context to her fragile state.
Once Psyche asks you to walk with her, follow her along the quiet path leading to Lamenting Lake. She’ll open up about her memories as you walk, so keep up with her pace and listen to her dialogue carefully. When she mentions a particular spot, look for a large boulder and dig near its roots. Doing so reveals a hidden camera that becomes important later in the mission.
After you have found the camera, Psyche will prompt you to use it. Take her photo when the game allows it. Finally, return to Icelake, where you will face a fight against a sketchy soldier guarding the platform on the right. Defeat him to move forward. Once the battle ends, you will trigger two impression checks that determine how your character’s traits evolve through dialogue choices:
