Learn how to unlock Mystic Maze in Duet Night Abyss, its mechanics, rewards, and how to prepare for each challenging floor.

Mystic Maze in Duet Night Abyss is a special rogue-like mode. You have to start from the first floor with basic gear and move upward through a total of 17 floors. Each floor gives you new options, enemies, and upgrades to collect. The setup is simple but demanding. You build your character as you go, which means smart planning is just as important as quick reflexes.
In this article, we will explore everything you need to know about the Mystic Maze in Duet Night Abyss.
How To Unlock Mystic Maze in Duet Night Abyss
You can access the Mystic Maze once you finish a specific side quest called On a Gentle Breeze. This quest only appears once you have cleared the main mission Black Iron and White Flower from Chapter Noctoyager.
Mystic Maze is linked to the Restless Hum event, but once unlocked, you can enter it anytime without waiting for weekly resets or event timers.
Mystic Maze Mechanics in Duet Night Abyss
Each Mystic Maze has 17 floors, and it ends with a tough boss fight on the final floor. You will see three types of doors between rooms:

- Red Doors mean combat. These are straightforward fights where you earn lampwicks and coins, both needed for upgrades.
- Blue Doors open to event rooms that might offer rewards or unexpected outcomes. Some are helpful, and some can set you back.
- Yellow Doors has shops, where you can buy buffs, artifacts, or healing items.
You can choose to clear more red doors early since they provide the most resources. Then, once you have enough currency, you can use shop rooms to strengthen your build.
Lampwicks are the main currency inside the Maze. You collect them from fights and trade them for buffs known as Core Flames, Loom Knight upgrades, and artifacts that improve your stats. Artifacts come in different colors, showing how rare and strong they are. Gold ones are the best and can completely change how your build performs.
The combat itself feels faster than usual missions. Once you reach the 17th floor, you will face a boss that tests everything you have built during your run.

Tips To Remember While Exploring the Mystic Maze
Mystic Maze rewards careful planning and flexible play. Every run is different, but a few habits can make your runs smoother and more efficient.
- Prioritize combat rooms first – Red doors give the most reliable income in lampwicks and coins.
- Stack defensive buffs – Aim for around 30 to 40 percent damage reduction by combining effects like dodge-related bonuses and skills like Nature Sanctuary.
- Choose buffs that match your character’s strengths – For example, casters should focus on mana efficiency, while melee builds should emphasize damage and sustain.
- Save your big purchases – The shop before the boss usually has the best artifacts. So, have enough coins for that floor.
- Open all environmental boxes during fights – They often contain ammo, healing, or extra coins that help you push further.
- Since the Mystic Maze has no reset, use it as a steady farming route for Lisbell shards, Threads, and Secret Letters.
- Even if you already have Lisbell, this mode remains worth repeating since it is one of the best ways to farm rare upgrade items.
