Sewer Carnival is a side quest in Duet Night Abyss located in the Eastern District of Icelake. The entire quest revolves around Dutton convincing you to join his so-called ride through the city’s underground tunnels.

This quest becomes available after you finish The Art of Survival main story quest in Chapter 1 of the Noctoyager storyline. You will not see Dutton before completing that part. Once you have cleared it, you can spot him hanging around near a manhole in the Eastern District, waiting to sell you on his questionable idea.

How To Start Sewer Carnival in Duet Night Abyss

You can reach Dutton’s location in two simple ways. If you start from Icelake Suburban Square, take the eastern exit and go up the stairs between a recruitment notice board and a chest. You will find a woman standing nearby. Walk straight, go down another set of stairs, and you will see Dutton in front of an apartment building next to a manhole cover.

If you want to start from the City Gates, take a right turn immediately after entering and walk down the alley. Head up the stairs, and you will spot Dutton there.

Once you talk to him, he will invite you to take a wild ride through the sewers. The conversation gives you two responses. You can play cautiously and say you have a bad feeling about it, which gives you +3 Benefit points, or act carefree and accept the ride for free money, earning +3 Chaos points. Both options work fine, so you can choose whichever impression you are building.

Once you accept the quest, Dutton disappears. Before you head underground, you get a chance to speak to him again for an optional Wisdom Check. If your Wisdom stat is at least 40, you can trick Dutton into entering first. It is a smart move because it keeps you safer and gives you extra rewards like Secret Letter Clues and 2000 coins. If you fail or skip this, you can still continue the quest normally.

Next, interact with the manhole cover near Dutton’s previous spot to enter the sewers. Once inside, the atmosphere changes completely. The tunnels are dark, the walls echo with water flow, and enemies are waiting not too far ahead.

Your first challenge comes from a group of Filthoids, nasty sewer-dwelling monsters that rely on close-range attacks. They are resistant to elemental damage, so physical weapons work best here. Switch between melee and ranged attacks if you get surrounded. Dodging is limited, so avoid wasting your moves on minor hits.

After defeating them, follow the quest marker deeper into the tunnel. You will reach a bridge where it becomes clear that Dutton is missing. Keep following the path until you reach a wider section of the sewer. Another batch of Filthoids will spawn here, and this is the final battle of the quest. Use your strongest combo attacks and finish them off quickly.

When the last enemy falls, Dutton reappears, completely drained and nauseous. It is clear his idea of fun has backfired badly. You can show concern and ask if he is okay to earn +3 Morality points. Otherwise, you can tease him about trying the ride again to earn +3 Chaos points. After that, the quest ends, and you collect your rewards.
