Duet Night Abyss has an impressive roster of characters, and while you may think they’re all equal, that’s far from true. The characters are all different and come with their own perks and bonuses, adapting to combat scenarios in unique ways. To help you better understand their potential in battle, and to help inform your decision of picking a character, we’ve made this Duet Night Abyss character tier list.

SS-tier Characters in Duet Night Abyss

The SS-tier characters are at the very top of the hierarchy, displaying incredible combat proficiency. These characters come with high damage stats and exceptional utility, and are the best the game has to offer.

Psyche: Psyche has the highest DPS in the game, making her a must-pick for anyone who values exceptional damage output. If her damage wasn’t good enough already, she is also incredibly agile and can fly around to stay out of reach.
Daphne: Daphne is a support character and is the best one you can pick for any given encounter. She can provide high and consistent heals to ensure you survive every encounter. Then, she can debuff your enemies, which will turn them into paper tigers.
Lynn: Lynn may not seem impressive at a glance, but if you build around her, you can scale up her damage output, notably with her Laceration mechanic. This pushes her up to SS-tier.

S-tier Characters in Duet Night Abyss

S-tier characters are great characters in their own right, but their support and DPS potential fall short of what the SS-tier characters have to offer.

Rhythm: Rhythm is incredibly mobile and deals a fair bit of damage that complements her mobility. She can also tank a fair bit of damage, which then makes her an all-rounder worth picking up.
Lisbell: Lisbell is truly exceptional at dealing with a low number of enemies. She deals ridiculously high damage and can use her heavy attacks to stun-lock an enemy, essentially giving you a free win. She falls short against a large number of enemies, which puts her down to S-tier.
Rebecca: Rebecca is an exceptional DPS character that also deals AOE damage. She’s the best one to pick for crowd control. Her limited range is all that holds her back from SS-tier.
Phantasio: Phantasio is an all-rounder that deals some of the highest DPS in the game, but only in his Bestial Fury state. He’s exceptional with his AOE damage, too, but the restrictions around his state push him down to S-tier.

A-tier Characters in Duet Night Abyss

A-tier characters are a different breed. On paper, they seem alright. But to get the most out of them, you have to actively build around them and pair them up with other characters. This requires quite an investment, but it is well worth putting the effort into.

Berenica: Agile and evasive, Berenica can restore Sanity and sustain herself in prolonged fights. She’s a great all-rounder but slightly lacks the raw damage to compete with top-tier DPS units.
Lady Nifle: Known for her debuffing prowess, Lady Nifle can lower enemy defenses while supporting her team. She’s a fantastic pick for coordinated teams that rely on burst DPS windows.
Yale and Oliver: Their explosive Pyro setup can deal devastating damage when executed well, but the manual placement of mines makes them difficult to use against agile opponents. In coordinated fights, however, they’re incredibly potent.
Truffle and Filbert: This pair is a reliable healer and buffer combination that keeps allies alive through sustained fights. While not flashy, their steady healing output makes them perfect for beginners and balanced team setups.

B-tier Characters in Duet Night Abyss

B-tier characters are purely situational picks that are good in the best-case scenario, but mediocre everywhere else. They’re not bad per se, but there’s always a better character you can pick.

Sibylle: Capable of huge bursts of damage, but her random targeting makes her inconsistent in most fights. Still, she’s an excellent pick when you need a secondary DPS for specific encounters.
Hellfire: Hellfire has the tools to heal or mitigate damage, but her split focus holds her back. She works best as a secondary support when paired with another healer or damage buffer.
Outsider: Outsider provides decent defensive utility through shielding and an attack speed buff. While not particularly strong offensively, he can fill a tank-support hybrid role in certain team compositions.
Tabethe: Specializes in single-target combat, making her great for boss fights. Her tentacle summons and Attack buff are useful, but she lacks impact in AoE situations.

C-tier Characters in Duet Night Abyss

The C-tier characters are, well, pretty bad. They have low damage potential, which, when paired with limited mobility, puts them here on the list. You’re better off avoiding these.

Randy: Randy’s barriers are only effective against projectiles, which restricts his use to specific fights. His ult’s crowd control is decent, but not enough to justify him over more versatile defenders.
Margie: Margie’s damage relies heavily on her Jackpot mechanic, forcing her to depend on dropped items to trigger AoE effects. While she can pull off entertaining combos, her performance falls short compared to other DPS options.
