Now that Dune: Awakening is close to its full release date, can players enjoy the survival experience alone?
Dune: Awakening is shaping up to be a game that strays away from a solo-play facility. The game showcases itself as an MMORPG. This means that there will be many players sharing the world of Arakkis in a server, working together to survive the harsh climates. However, if somebody wants to play alone, would it be possible at all? Let’s learn the potential answers behind Dune Awakening’s potential single-player.
Playing Dune Awakening Solo
Developers have made it clear that players who do not wish to make it a multiplayer experience can, in fact, play Dune Awakening solo! The details regarding the solo play opportunity are not clear, though. So far, the game will not have a separate single-player mode. It will instead be similar to playing Sea of Thieves alone. In the latter, players will share the world with other online players but will have to carry on the adventure alone.
Needless to say, the game will demand grinding. It is a survival RPG, and players shouldn’t expect anything else. However, if you are playing with your friends, you can divide a lot of work among each other. The more friends you have, the more there’s room for cooperation instead of competition. Although the developers have kept the PvP element of the game completely optional, playing with random players can be slightly difficult if you want to incorporate cooperation.
To sum it up, players can dive into the game to have a solo adventure. However, since the game is not crafted particularly for a single-player experience, you might find yourself lagging behind in dominating the resources in Arakkis. The good part is that you will be allowed to interact and trade with other players in the world! This means that the only disadvantage here is that the grind cannot be divided among others and you can’t rule over the natural resources on the in-game land.
