In this walkthrough guide, we shall take you through the First Blood main story quest in Dying Light The Beast.

Dying Light The Beast’s First Blood quest sends you on the hunt for more Chimera DNA in hopes of becoming stronger. Olivia wishes to fully understand the extent of Chimera powers, and the only way to do so is to track down a Chimera transport unit and extract the DNA from the Chimera being transported.
While the task seems fairly simple, the mission quickly goes wrong when you find out the Chimera has escaped and is now out and about in the wild. What follows is an intense hunt and one of the hardest boss fights in Dying Light The Beast. If you’re struggling to beat the boss or having trouble with any portion of this quest, our guide is here to help.

Finding the Chimera Transport

The First Blood quest begins with Olivia directing you towards a Chimera transport on the edge of the map. She wants you to find the transport and extract a DNA sample from the Chimera. Finding this Chimera transport is pretty straightforward, and you can do so by simply following the objective marker.
The objective marker will lead you to the transport site, where you’ll find a truck and a crew that has been destroyed by a monster. Clear out the zombies in the area and investigate the truck. You’ll then find traces of the Chimera originating from this truck.

Find the Chimera

Follow the tracks of the Chimera down the bridge and into the water below. You can use your survivor sense to keep track of the footprints. Hop onto the island near the water and follow the traces past all the zombies. We recommend killing them to fill up a small chunk of your Beast Mode meter. Trust us, you’ll need this later on. As you follow the traces, you’ll see an island up ahead, one covered up in mist.
This is where you need to go. Swim through the water and into the mist-covered island. Head to the center of the island and use your survivor sense to find a corpse. Investigate this corpse to initiate a cutscene, which will bring you face-to-face with the Chimera you seek.

Kill the Chimera

You’ll now have to fight and kill this Chimera, known as Mist, but the fight is one of the hardest in the game. The Mist uses quite a few tricks, but its main way of attacking you is charging right at you. It will let out a scream and Naruto-run towards you to spear you. Dodge sideways to avoid this, and immediately start attacking the creature. You’ll be able to get three hits in before he runs away.
Similarly, he’ll also jump atop a tree and throw a smoke bomb of sorts to disappear, only to jump right out of the smoke and crash into you. Dodge sideways to avoid this and attack fast to deal damage. Once again, you’ll only get two to three hits before he runs away.
The boss also spits poison at you, but this is by far the easiest of the attacks to dodge. What really makes this fight difficult, however, are the swarms of zombies that interrupt the fight. The trick is to think of these zombies as fodder for your Beast Mode meter. If there are too many to handle, use Molotov cocktails to thin their numbers and kill the rest. Kill as many as you can to enter Beast Mode, and then chase down the Mist to beat him up. Enter Beast Mode twice in this fight, and you’ll finish it in no time.
