How To Unlock the Secret Kyle Crane Backstory Cutscene in Dying Light The Beast
You unlock the secret Kyle Crane cutscene by talking to Olivia right after completing the Safe Haven quest in the game. The quest sees you escaping the Baron’s facility, after which Olivia sends you out to secure the monastery.
Once the place is clear, Olivia will join you, and you can then talk to her at her desk. She’ll set you out for the next quest in the game, signaling you to go, but don’t just yet. Instead, talk to her again, and you’ll be able to have a more personal conversation with her.
Olivia will tell you about her backstory, her regrets, and why she chose to stand up to the Baron and help you. Exhaust all the dialog options in this conversation, after which she will ask you about your capture. The screen will then flash white, and the secret cutscene will begin.

How Was Kyle Crane Captured in Dying Light The Beast?
The secret cutscene rewinds the clock and shows Kyle Crane moments after the ending of Dying Light The Following. Crane recalls feeling overwhelmed by the darkness in his head, fighting off the virus for what felt like an eternity.
As he dealt with his inner demons, he came across two scientists who asked him for help. They were in danger, and Crane helped keep them safe by fighting hundreds of zombies barehanded. With his skin falling off his flesh, Crane returned to the scientists, expecting gratitude, only to meet the barrel of a gun. The scientists were bait, and soldiers surrounded and captured Crane, kicking off the events of The Beast.
