Kyle Crane seeks any and all remaining survivors to rally up against the Baron in Dying Light The Beast’s Life After Life quest.
Following Crane’s grand escape from the Baron’s facility, he now seeks all the help he can get in the Life After Life quest. The Baron has an army of his own, and the only way to stand up to him is to rally the people against him. Olivia suggests that there are people in the city, and also reveals a smoke signal in the rural part of town.
As Crane, your job is to investigate both the leads in the Life After Life quest in the game. This quest can be fairly challenging, and if you’re stuck, this guide is for you.
How To Complete the Life After Life Quest in Dying Light The Beast
You complete the Life After Life quest in Dying Light The Beast by completing the following objectives:
- Investigate the smoke signal.
- Investigate the town.
- Get to the town hall.
- Find the town hall survivors.
- Kill the Chimera.
- Get to the tower to help the sheriff.
- Reset the power.
- Connect the electrical boxes with a cable.

Life After Life Quest Walkthrough
Investigate the Smoke Signal
The first course of action is to investigate the smoke signal in the rural part of town. This is an optional objective, but it is along the route to the town. Head to the objective marker, and you’ll find a bunch of cabins surrounded by zombies.
You must enter the cabin with the smoke coming from its roof. Use a decoy to lure the zombies away from the cabin and enter the cabin by vaulting through the small gap in the fence to the side. Talk to the NPC inside, and he’ll tell you about the people in the town hall.
To the Town Hall
Once you learn of the survivors within the town hall, your “Investigate the town” objective will update to “Get to the town hall.” The town hall will be marked on your map and is right in the middle of Old Town. Travel through the town and to the large building and slip through the gap in the gates. As you enter, you’ll find the lights off and screams emanating from the distance.
Pick up the gun off the corpse by the entrance and head deeper inside, clearing zombies along the way. As you enter the courtyard, you’ll find zombies bashing against the doors of the building. Defeat these zombies without using your gun. This will help you build up your Beast Mode meter.

Defeat the Chimera
Once you beat the zombies in the courtyard, a Chimera will break through the glass above and land before you. This Chimera, Defect, is your second boss fight in the game. Beating him requires you to constantly move about and around the area. There are explosive barrels nearby that you can use as well. We have an extensive guide that you can refer to to beat Defect.
Helping the Sheriff and Restoring Power
Once you beat Defect and talk to the survivors, they’ll send you towards the Sheriff in the tower. From here on, it’s a straightforward climb through the building to the top. Along the way, you’ll meet an NPC who suspiciously resembles Leon Kennedy. This NPC will hand you some pistol ammo. Take the ammo and continue on up forward. Once you reach the top, a small cutscene will play out, and the Sheriff will ask you to help restore the power.
When the cutscene ends, take the zipline down to the power station below. Lockpick your way inside and interact with the generator to activate the power. Now, you need to divert this power to the tower by connecting a cable to the tower power unit. Pick up the marked cable and look to your left. You’ll find an open vent. Pass through this vent carrying the cable, and climb up the tower. Connect the cable to the unit to complete the quest.
