Dying Light The Beast: Requiem For A Scream Walkthrough

The Requiem For A Scream quest in Dying Light The Beast is one of the game’s shortest main quests. You’ll need to enter a factory and then engage in a boss fight. However, the most challenging part of this quest is actually finding the entrance to access the factory.

Some players might spend several minutes looking for this entry point. So, in this guide, we’ll help you out with the complete quest, starting from factory entrance to the boss battle and more.

Meeting Olivia

Your first order of business is meeting with Olivia. She’s waiting for you inside a parked car. As soon as you interact with the car door, a cutscene will begin. She’ll inform you that there’s a Chimera inside the cement plant factory in the area, but she also warns you that it could be a trap. Olivia asks for a sample of the Chimera, and with that the scene comes to an end.

Entering the Factory in the Requiem For A Scream Quest in Dying Light The Beast

Just after that cutscene, use the container in front of you to reach the other side of the waterway. Now, rather than trying to climb to the top of the factory to look for a door or open window, you should proceed to the building’s right-hand side. There, you should find some scaffolding that you’ll be able to climb.

Use them to get to the roof and head toward the building’s front side to drop down onto a metal walkway. Now, simply head inside the factory and proceed down the stairs. You should be able to spot a metal gate that’s opened halfway once you reach the factory floor. Interacting with the gate will immediately trigger a cutscene, which then begins the boss fight in this area.

Matriarch Chimera Boss Fight

During the cutscene, the Matriarch will jump down from above, and the boss battle will start. This enemy has a couple of phases. You’ll have to watch out for its charge and leap attacks, both of which can deal major damage to you if you aren’t careful. If you get close to the Matriarch, she’ll disappear in a plume of smoke. She’ll also blend in with the environment, making it more challenging to actually spot her and attack.

You’ll have to focus on her screams to locate her when she uses the camouflage technique. Here are a few tips that can help you beat the boss during the Requiem For A Scream quest in Dying Light The Beast:

• The key here is to stick as close to the boss as you can. When she attacks, simply dodge out of the way and then go in for a few well-placed strikes of your own.

• She will still create distance with you often with her smoke bombs. In that case, we suggest waiting for your Beast Mode to become available. With it, you can cause some actual hurt to the boss and end the battle quicker.

• Every time the boss manages to create some distance, be ready for either her leap or charge attack. Regardless of the attack type, don’t dodge backward. Instead, dodge to the side.

• In the first phase, a few Runners will also appear in the arena. Make sure you take them down as quickly as you can to focus solely on the boss. During the second phase, the number of Runners appearing will increase. So, you’ll have to be constantly on your toes.

• The Matriarch’s moveset doesn’t change between the two phases. The only difference is the drastically more Runners that spawn in the latter stage of the fight.

Return to Olivia

After defeating the Matriarch boss, look for a vehicle and use that to reach Olivia at the Monastery. You’ll have to talk to her and hand over the Chimera to her. Once that’s done, you’ll need to head all the way back to the Exiles’ cave to speak with Lydia. Talking to Lydia and accepting the next mission also concludes the Requiem For A Scream quest in Dying Light The Beast. You’ll receive the following rewards for completing it:

• Survivor Spiked Arm Wrap
• 10,000 XP
• 800 Old World Money
• Co-op Lootbox (if the quest was completed in co-op)
