Yes, along with its predecessors, EAFC 24 and FIFA 23, the latest installment in EA’s flagship series is taking a little unscheduled nap. Scheduled maintenance went rogue, extending past its bedtime and spilling over its 11 AM GMT curfew.
This isn’t just a minor hiccup; it’s the first major downtime since the game’s launch in September. Whether you’re itching to check out the Frost Update or just want to climb the Division Rivals ladder, you’re stuck waiting.
When Will You Be Able To Play EAFC 25 Again?
The heart of the issue lies with a significant update dubbed the “Frost Update.” Released just hours before the servers went dark, this update was poised to revamp the gameplay across EAFC 25, enhancing features in Ultimate Team, Clubs, and the new Rush mode. Clearly, this isn’t just any patch; it’s a major overhaul aimed at polishing the gaming experience to a shine.

Unfortunately, the transition hasn’t been as smooth as planned. Originally, the servers were scheduled to shut down at 5 AM GMT for what was supposed to be a brief six-hour hiatus. Yet, here we are, with the clock ticking past the expected resolution time. The official EA Sports FC Direct Communication Twitter account had gamers briefly hopeful when it announced, “The maintenance has been complete, and match creation has been enabled.”
But hope waned as the EA website quickly countered with news that the servers were still down. Amidst this digital rollercoaster, players are understandably frustrated. Many had plans to dive into the new content or secure their spots in competitive rankings, especially with promos like Thunderstruck and TOTW 12 waiting in the wings.
