You thought you were done with Elden Ring? Here is everything you need to know about the new classes coming to Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.
Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s most popular product to date. Apart from this, it is also one of the greatest games of all time. Therefore, it was to no one’s surprise when a special version of the game was announced to be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
This special version of the game, the Tarnished Edition, comes with multiple new features for players. Among these features are two new starting classes that players can choose between. Here is everything we know about the two new classes coming to Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.

What are the Two New Classes Coming to Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition

The two new classes for the Tarnished Edition were revealed at the FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025. The names of the two classes translate approximately as Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight. As of right now, though, we do not have any other information about these two classes. Their starting weapons, armor, stats, and so on are all unknown to us.
Apart from these new classes, Tarnished Edition also comes with three new appearances for Torrent, the spectral steed. All of this new content will be a good way to shake up the game for returning players.
How To Get Access to the New Classes in Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition
These two classes will likely be available in the same way as all the other classes in the base game. When you are starting a new game, you will be asked to choose between all of the possible classes. The class you pick will be yours for the rest of the game.
Players without a Switch may be feeling disappointed right now. However, there is no need to fear. FromSoftware has confirmed that Tarnished Edition will be making its way to other platforms as well. This additional content will be available for a low price as the Tarnished Pack DLC.
No release date has been given so far for when Tarnished Edition will be out for the Switch, nor when it will be available for other platforms as DLC. The only thing we know so far is that it will be some time in 2025.
