Everdark Fissure in the Fog, aka Caligo, Miasma of Night, is a force to be reckoned with. This is especially true if you go into the boss fight without the necessary passives. Although the Everdark variant of Caligo is very similar to its regular counterpart, it does have a few key differences that make it more challenging to deal with.

Thankfully, Everdark Caligo retains the same weaknesses as the regular variant. As such, Nightfarers like Executor can be made to work really well against the new Everdark Sovereign. However, there are some prerequisites to make the Executor effective against Caligo.

Unlike other bosses in the game, Caligo isn’t weak to Frost, which renders one of Executor’s most powerful builds, well, useless. However, there are still Relics that can make the Executor overpowered against Caligo. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Executor build for Everdark Fissure in the Fog in Elden Ring Nightreign.

For the Executor build, we’re going to focus primarily on Bleed and Poison. Furthermore, we have also worked in Dark Augur’s Relic, which offers better survivability for this build. In addition to that, we also highly recommend using a Fire (Imbue) Relic with this build. If you don’t have a Relic that grants your starting armament Fire, you can use Gladius’s Relic.

Although Galdius’s Relic is of Medium tier, it offers good Stamina Regeneration and also imbues Fire to your starting armament. Ideally, you want to look for weapons like Rivers of Blood or Blasphemous Blade.

Both these weapons deal incredibly high Fire damage, and Rivers of Blood especially deals Bleed, which can easily melt Caligo’s HP. However, in the off chance you don’t get a Rivers of Blood, it’s best to have Fire on your starting armament. As an alternative to Fore, you can use Poison, which also works quite well against Caligo.

Tips To Use the Best Executor Build Against Everdark Fissure in the Fog

  • For the Executor build, you primarily want to focus on dishing out as much elemental (affinity) damage as possible in the first phase. For the second phase, we highly recommend having at least one Fire weapon in your off-hand, which will make it easier to melt the Nightlord’s armor.
  • For passives, you want to focus on Physical Damage Negation, Affinity Damage Negation, Fire Attack Up, and Blood Loss in Vicinity Increases Attack Power.
  • Similarly to Duchess, Executor is supposed to be used as the primary damage dealer of a team. You aren’t meant to tank attacks head-on. As such, you want to stay close to the Nightlord’s tail, where you can easily attack the boss and stay safe from its AoEs.
  • Due to Executor’s excellent Arcane-scaling, dealing elemental damage is going to be incredibly easy. As such, make sure to stick with Bleed weapons, i.e., Scythes of Katanas. While power-stancing Katanas is useful, we recommend two-handing the weapon instead, which allows for faster attacks.

Additional Notes

For Everdark Caligo, we highly recommend using the Mountaintop Shifting Earth. It not only grants you increased defense against Frostbite, but also has bosses with a higher chance of dropping Rivers of Blood.
