The Everdark Sovereign Nightlords are easily the toughest challenge in Elden Ring Nightreign, only seconded by the true final boss of the game itself, Heolstor. While there have been a few outliers like the Everdark Augur and Everdark Sentient Pest, most of these enhanced Nightlords have been a good and challenging new addition to the game.

Everdark Fissure in the Fog is also one of the better examples of these new enhanced bosses. Boasting significantly beefier HP and some new AOE attacks, Caligo, Miasma of Night, is a force to be reckoned with. The Nightlord is also a menace to ranged Nightfarers due to its increased agility and tendency to move across the arena.

However, with the right set of Relics, you can easily overpower the Nightlord, even with a nimble Nightfarer like the Recluse. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Recluse build for Everdark Fissure in the Fog in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Recluse, much like the Duchess and Ironeye, is incredibly squishy. However, what holds Recluse back isn’t her HP but her Character Skill and passives, which can be quite tricky to learn, let alone master. As such, we only recommend picking up Recluse for any Everdark Sovereign, only if you’re adept with said Nightfarer’s abilities. As for the Recluse build, we have focused primarily on her DPS and a bit on survivability.

Due to Recluse’s playstyle, she will rarely have to get to melee range of Caligo. Instead, as Recluse, you can just focus on your elemental cocktails and Spells. That said, for this particular boss, we highly recommend using Fire Incantations instead.

Additionally, if you have access to Relics that offer cooldown and Bleed on Ultimate Art passives, we highly recommend using those as well. As for weapons, you want to look for Dragon Communion Seal as well as Seals that grant Fire Incantations.

Tips To Use the Best Recluse Build Against Everdark Fissure in the Fog

Here are some tips that will help you properly use the Recluse build against Everdark Fissure in the Fog:

  • Firstly, if you’re using Recluse, we highly recommend doing so for three-player co-op. That way, you will have a better chance of making better cocktails with different elements. While Recluse can be used for specific solo Expeditions, she isn’t a good choice to solo Everdark Caligo.
  • As for passives, you want to stack Improved Sorceries and Incantations, Reduced FP Consumption, FP Recovery on Attacks, and Improved Magic and Fire Attacks. Also, we do recommend picking a few Improved Damage Negation (Physical and Affinity).
  • When faced against Caligo, you want to stay at a medium distance from the boss. Also, having one weapon with the Less Likely to Be Targeted passive will make your life a lot easier. Most of Caligo’s attacks are short-range AOEs, which can be dodged outwards.
  • Your best options as Recluse are Fire Incantations, Rock Sling, and Fire Cocktails. Also, make sure to periodically use the Nightfarer’s Ultimate Art, which will help you and your allies siphon health and FP from Caligo.

Additional Notes

For Everdark Caligo, we highly recommend using the Mountaintop Shifting Earth event. Getting the buff from the Mountaintop increases your Frost resistance substantially. Also, defeating the Frost Drake nearby has a high chance of dropping Legendary weapons. Do note that you don’t want to use Renalla or Ranni’s Full Moon against Caligo, since the Nightlord is immune to Frost.
