Everything you need to know about the best Wylder build for the Everdark Fissure in the Fog boss fight in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Fissure in the Fog is easily one of the best bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign when it comes to spectacle and OST. However, despite having a menacing design and power over Frost, Caligo, Miasma of Night is a rather easy encounter, especially if you have Mountaintop Shifting Earth active. However, with the Everdark version, FromSoftware has significantly increased the difficulty of Caligo’s boss fight. While the same weaknesses still apply, Everdark Fissure in the Fog is significantly more tanky and has quite a few new attacks that can catch you off guard. Furthermore, the boss also inflicts Frostbite with almost every single attack.
However, if you’re using Wylder, you should have a relatively easier time with the new Nightlord, granted you have the right Relics for the Expedition. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Wylder build for Everdark Fissure in the Fog in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Overview of the Best Wylder Build for Everdark Fissure in the Fog in Elden Ring Nightreign

For this build, we’re primarily focusing on two things – Fire Affinity Damage and Survivability. As always, survivability is extremely important against Everdark Sovereign Nightlords. Furthermore, unlike Everdark Augur, Caligo does take Affinity Damage in her second phase. In fact, Affinity Damage is more or less mandatory if you want to get through the boss fight as fast as possible. Essentially, you need to use Fire damage against the boss to break her Ice Veil. Doing so not only staggers her but also applies Defense Down debuff, which makes it easier to break her poise and also deal bonus (physical and affinity) damage.
Apart from the Relics, you also need to work in a few passives into your build to make Wylder dish out enough damage to get through Everdark Caligo’s second phase. For passives, we highly recommend Improved Charged Attacks, Improved Skills, Affinity Damage Reduction, Physical Damage Reduction, and most importantly, Improved Stance-Break.

Tips To Use the Best Wylder Build Against Everdark Fissure in the Fog in Elden Ring Nightreign

Here are some tips to help you use the Wylder build efficiently against Everdark Fissure in the Fog:
- With this build, your primary focus is going to be to stay close to Claigo at all times and deal constant Fire damage. Make sure to keep your starting armament till Day 3, unless you find a better Greatsword with Fire affinity. Also, make sure to upgrade the armament to Epic rarity as well.
- Remember to save your Ultimate Art for the second phase. Also, don’t use your Ultimate right at the start of the second phase, where Caligo is immune to stagger. Instead, let the boss finish her Ice Shard combo, and after that, follow up with your Ultimate and a few jumping attacks.
- In the second phase, staying close to the boss is difficult. However, you can use Wylder’s Character Skill to easily close distances. And with Character Skill Cooldown buff, you will be able to use the skill more often.
- Lastly, make sure to use jumping and charged attacks. With Greatswords and Colossal Weapons, jumping attacks are the easiest way to break an enemy’s poise, including Nightlords. And for Caligo, breaking the boss’s poise is going to give a major advantage.
Additional Notes
If you have better Relics available, we recommend using Fire Attack Up with the Starting Armament boon. Furthermore, you can also use Dark Fulghor’s Relic to boost the Fire damage, at the cost of one Relic slot.
