Everything you need to know about the upcoming new Everdark Sovereign, Enhanced Augur in Elden Ring Nightreign, and its release date.

With the new title update for Elden Ring Nightreign just hours away from release, FromSoftware has revealed details on the next Everdark Sovereign. Surprisingly enough, instead of Gladius or Libra, the next Everdark Nightlord is Maris. Dubbed by the community as the most “tedious and boring” Nightlord in Nightreign, Maris, Fathom of Night, also known as Augur, was due for an overhaul.
With the latest title update, FromSoftware plans to release new Everdark Sovereign Expeditions for the rest of the Nightlords, starting with Augur. Unlike the previous batch of Everdark Nightlords, very little is known about the upcoming new bosses and the changes they bring.
However, based on the previous Everdark Nightlords, we can still speculate on a few key details about the upcoming Everdark Augur. Here’s everything you need to know about the Enhanced Augur in Elden Ring Nightreign.
When Is Enhanced Augur Coming To Elden Ring Nightreign?

The Enhanced Augur (Maris, Fathom of Night) Everdark Sovereign is scheduled to go live on July 31, 2025, at 3 AM CEST, 6 PM PDT (July 30, 2025). The Nightlord will be added to the game with title update 1.02. Therefore, there will not be an additional update before the new Everdark Sovereign.
Instead, the Expedition will simply replace the current Everdark Sovereign(s). Much like the other Everdark Expeditions, Enhanced Augur will be available for a week, complete with a new Dark Relic and Everdark Sigils. Following Augur, a new Enhanced Nightlord will be added to the Expeditions list. However, details on the other Enhanced Nightlords have not yet been revealed.
Maris, Fathom of Night, similar to Darkdrift Knight, is susceptible to Lightning. Furthermore, it is one of the few bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign that is best tackled with a specific Nightfarer. You can technically defeat Augur with any of the Nightfarers. However, you will have a much better time against Maris if you pick Ironeye or Recluse.
What’s New With Enhanced Augur?
Since the update is not live at the time of writing, dataminers have not been able to gather any information on the upcoming Everdark Nightlords, including Augur. However, there are a few things we can say with certainty regarding Enhanced Augur. Firstly, the enhanced version of Augur will start the battle in its second phase.
As such, Nightfarers should be prepared to deal with ground tentacles as well as exploding jellyfish right from the start. In addition, the Enhanced Augur will use the Sleep “bomb” multiple times throughout the battle. This is why you should have at least one ranged character in the party. The easiest way to tackle Augur is to go in with three Ironeyes.
Additionally, much like in the case of Libra, you will want to save your Ultimate Art for Augur’s dive attacks.
