Elden Ring Nightreign might not be a live service game but it does feature elements of it, akin to games like Monster Hunter Wilds. Similar to Monster Hunter, FromSoftware has been doing a fairly decent job at keeping the Elden Ring Nightreign community well fed with a constant stream of title updates and new content. With the reign of Everdark Equilibrious Beast coming to an end this week, FromSoftware has revealed the next Everdark Sovereign Nightlord, Tricephalos. And much like any other Everdark Nightlord, Tricephalos comes packed with some cool surprises. While the boss is mostly identical to its base game counterpart, it does get a fairly beefy new moveset in the second phase.

Furthermore, the boss also gains a new ability that essentially makes it a more menacing rendition of Nightreign’s toughest Nightlord, Heolstor. Here’s everything you need to know about Everdark Tricpehalos in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Everdark Tricephalos, aka Gladius, Beast of Night, is scheduled to arrive on August 21, 2025, at 3 AM CEST. The boss will be replacing Everdark Equilibrious Beast as part of the weekly reset. Furthermore, alongside Everdark Gladius, the weekly reset will also add Everdark Augur back to the game. As such, if you missed out on getting the Dark Night of Fathom Relic, you can grab it this week. Much like other Everdark Sovereigns, Everdark Gladius will be available for a week before getting replaced by the weekly reset. Alongside the new Nightlord, the Collector Signboard will also get a new Relic. However, to get the Relic, you need to first defeat Everdark Gladius.

On paper, Everdark Tricephalos isn’t nearly as challenging as Everdark Libra or even Everdark Adel. However, its second phase is still quite tricky to counter, especially if you don’t have any Holy weapons. Thankfully, Tricephalos is a fairly easy boss to defeat in solo, and that seems to be the case for the Everdark version as well. For this boss, you want to take Nightfarers that have plenty of defense and can withstand a bit of punishment. Nightfarers like Raider, Wylder, and Guardian are obvious choices here.

However, you can also use Revenant for this boss fight, as long as you stack multiple damage negation buffs.

What’s New With Everdark Tricephalos?

Everdark Tricephalos starts the boss fight in its second phase and immediately splits into three. However, once you deplete one-third of the boss’s HP, it transitions to its second phase. In this phase, Gladius takes significantly lower damage to its head and has higher poise. However, you can still stagger the boss with Holy damage. In addition to the standard attacks, Gladius also has a few new combos. What’s new this time around is that most of Gladius’s attacks come with a Fire after-effect.
