Learn how to earn and use Murk in Elden Ring Nightreign to unlock permanent upgrades, cosmetics, and Relics.

Elden Ring Nightreign retains the familiar foundation of FromSoftware’s iconic action RPG despite being a roguelike and introducing several new mechanics. One of the standout additions made to the game is a currency called Murk.
Unlike Runes, which are used during expeditions for immediate purchases and level-ups, Murk is a post-expedition resource reserved for purchases in the Roundtable Hold. You will mainly be spending your hard-earned Murk at the Small Jar Bazaar. This article discusses the most effective ways to earn Murk and how to make the most of it.
How To Earn Murk in Elden Ring Nightreign

Murk is earned primarily through completing Expeditions—the core gameplay loop in Nightreign. Whether you defeat the Nightlord and make it to the end or fall early in your run, you’ll receive Murk upon returning to the Roundtable Hold. The amount of Murk you earn correlates with your performance. A failed expedition may only net you a few hundred Murk. On the other hand, a successful one, especially one where you eliminate multiple bosses, can yield up to 2,000–3,000 Murk or more.
Another efficient way to earn Murk is by selling Relics. These items, collected during expeditions, can be traded in at the Relic Rites menu inside the Roundtable Hold. More powerful Relics, which often possess multiple effects, can bring in several hundred Murk each. However, such Relics are extremely valuable and can prove useful for specific character builds you may want to try out later. Only sell Relics if you are sure you won’t need them.

How To Use Murk in Elden Ring Nightreign

Murk is used exclusively in the Roundtable Hold to buy cosmetics, emotes, Relics, and other items that remain unlocked permanently. Some high-end skins and armor sets can cost tens of thousands of Murk. One of your first Murk purchases should be your Nightfarer’s Goblet from the Small Jar Bazaar. This unlocks new Relic Rites for the character, allowing you to take a new Relic loadout into expeditions.
Once you’ve got such essential unlocks out of the way, using Murk to buy emotes and skins is up to you. Although emotes are quite cheap, you will need to start saving up for your favorite skin as they can easily cost north of 30,000 Murk. To earn large rewards for Murk, prioritize completing full expeditions, defeating bosses, and farming Relics efficiently.
