Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Play Duo Mod with Seamless Co-op

Elden Ring Nightreign creates a unique roguelike co-op experience built upon the foundation of its iconic predecessor. Three players band together on expeditions to Limveld and battle through various enemies and bosses to defeat the Nightlords. Accordingly, the game’s difficulty has been calibrated to suit a three-player team, with the Nightlord bosses specifically designed with that party size in mind.

However, there is no duo mode in Elden Ring Nightreign. If two friends wish to play the game together, they will have to include a random player to complete the trinity. Such a lack of multiplayer features has frustrated two-player teams, but the answer to their troubles has arrived much sooner than expected. LukeYui, a famed modder who introduced seamless co-op modes to Elden Ring and Dark Souls, uploaded a duo mod for Nightreign within 24 hours of the game’s release.

How To Play 2-Player Co-op in Elden Ring Nightreign

The “Seamless Co-op” mod by LukeYui is available to download and install from Nexus Mods. The modder seems to have developed the initial prototype of the mod within four hours and continues to tweak it for updates. Here is how to install the mod:

Download the mod here.
Extract the downloaded files to your Elden Ring Nightreign folder.
- For example, “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN\Game.”
Open the SeamlessCoop folder and edit nrsc_settings.ini to change the player count. It is set to 2 by default.
Launch the mod using nrsc_launcher.exe.
Open the matchmaking settings in-game at the Roundtable Hold.
Select “Invite Members” and invite a friend through Steam.
- Both players must be using Steam and the same version of the mod.
Once your friend has joined the lobby, select Commence Expedition.

What Does the Seamless Co-op Mod Do?
