In this guide, we shall go over how to unlock the Local Clue in Elden Ring Nightreign, a tool to make Scarab-hunting easier.

Elden Ring Nightreign has a ton of secrets for you to uncover, but so little time. There are weapons to find and bosses to beat, all while the Night’s Tide closes in on you. While weapons and runes are often enough to get you through to the end of a run, a Talisman is a surefire way to boost your chances of completing it.
Talismans are stat charms that boost your offensive or defensive capabilities. They could do something as simple as boosting your defense or something more niche like boosting jumping attacks. They can make or break your build, and to find them, you need to find Scarabs. While Scarabs are difficult to find, Elden Ring Nightreign has a secret feature, the Local Clue, that marks all of their locations on the map for you. This makes Scarab hunting a much simpler task, helping you achieve the perfect build.
If you‘re looking for Scarabs, you need the Local Clue. If you don’t know how to find the Local Clue, we’re here to help. In this guide, we shall go over how to unlock the Local Clue in Elden Ring Nightreign, a tool to make Scarab-hunting easier.

The Local Clue is a map tool that marks all the Scarabs in Limveld for you. To unlock this feature, you first need to make your way to one of the castles in the game. Head to the upper floors of the castle, and you’re likely to find a boss. Depending on the RNG, this boss will either be a knight or a troll.
You’ll have to defeat this boss on the roof. The area is small, making things difficult, but it is possible to stun-lock the boss by simply ganging up on him. Beat the boss and head to the Round Tower towards the end of the roof. Enter inside, and you will find a large map table. Interact with this map, and the game will say that you have “acquired a Local Clue.” Open your map after this, and all the Scarabs will be marked.
